Fic: Harry & the Pirate VI: 'A Wicked Wager' (Jack/Harry, OC's - PG-13)

Set two years post-Blood and Treasure, this is for felaine who suggested that "Caroline needs some romance too...[and] I'd love to know how she'd react to the Caribbean."

This is also for the "twist" drabble challenge prompt at blackpearlsails, though at over 3,000 words it's somewhat beyond a drabble.

Oh my dearest girl...what a charmer and I can see now why it was so easy for Harry to accept Jack on one level...he's in the style of her beloved brother. George has turned out to be a sterling addition to the family and if you had hinted, given a nod even to Caroline as some anyone beyond the Wicked Witch...well, I would have considered what might be needed to commit you ...and now, well, now, she's a woman on the edge of a new life, an adventure to see her through to whatever horizons they can find together==they richly deserve each other and the joy loving can bring to life.

Jack, if George has involved himself with that woman…”

“Aye? And what do you think you’ll do about it?” Jack looked at Harry again, flushed and belligerent for all her smiles. How he loved it when she was afire over some trifle. He drawled provocatively, “She’s a guest, darling. You’ll be civil or..." this was a hoot of a marital aside...and Jack's delight in tweaking Harry is too precious--she's a tartar==oh my yes! Funny bit this, got a giggle.

“Lord. If that don’t beat everything. You bloody deserve those two hundred guineas, upon my soul. She’s almost human.” I love this==so very much Jack to just open his mouth and say it all right out...an honest man in expressing those opinions most polite folk might shield.

And George, telling the truth about his wager and Still pulling off the way of it....curiousity...gets more than just kittygatitos don't it?

And if I didn't think well of you before...this kinda capped it! Needed a boost today and this was just the light.
