Icon Meme Again...

aletheiafelinea did the Icon Meme I posted last week, and as I commented on hers, she chose some icons for me to write about...

Love Mr. Cotton and his Parrot, of course, wrote a story about them once for the_dala  in the Tertiary Character Ficathon (wow, that was a long time ago). I've been a bird person all my life, and the relationship between these two really appeals to me.
I've only ridden a few times in my life, but as a kid I adored horses, or at least the idea of them (maybe it was watching Spin & Marty on the Mickey Mouse Club or something, or all those Westerns we used to watch on TV), and I still love reading about them, and watching them. This ancient cave art really captures their essence, I think. I use it when commenting on others' horse-related posts.
This is the icon I chose to use for Harry and the Pirate: The Chalice of St. Francis (can't believe it's been six years since I wrote that story). It's a beautiful icon, and seems to express Jack's confidence and mystery in equal measure.
I made this for the post I made after my daughter and I went to see Ashes and Snow, a multi-media art exhibit that was set up in enormous tents in the parking lot by Santa Monica pier. The photographs, which often feature children and animals, are just wonderful. It was really a memorable experience seeing that in person.
I swiped this icon because it's a gorgeous pic of Jack as he swoops down on unsuspecting Port Royal, and if there was ever a "horse of a different color" it is he. He's such a brilliant, unique creation, and has inspired so many people in so many ways.

In other news, check out this beautiful 2011 Lover's Calendar by jessswann , really wonderful graphics in that.

And now to write for a few minutes (chapter 15! Whoot! Only five to go!) before I have to get ready to drive up to Santa Barbara for daughter's baby shower! Fun stuff, should be a lovely drive. Happy Sunday, everyone!
