*Snerk* Love the idea that men need to master swords to even the odds in the battle of wits with women. LOL. Where do I register for mathematics classes with Cap'n Jack? Hmmm? Pretty please?
Gah, and I'm such a sucker for paternal!Jack, too...
And this was my favorite passage, as I can clearly see the moon rising over the sea, looking as you described. How many times have I sat by the ocean with friends watching the moon, drinking, laughing, singing? Makes me pretty homesick, but in a good way: On this voyage, and also for the first time, Uncle Jack let Jamie stay up as late as he wanted each night, to listen to the talk and music of the crew as the stars came out and the moon rose, butter gold in the east. Wild stories of the sea, bawdy portside tales, songs that ranged from hilarious to heartbreaking.
Mine too, as you know. Nights sailing on the Caribbean are pretty close to Heaven, and I expect that was the case back then, too. So happy you liked that part!
Jamie has quite a support system. After I'm finished with this, I'm going to get back to Devil's Own Luck (finally!) and there'll be more about him, set a few years earlier.
I was wondering if everyone would like something so very PG. I'm so happy to know you're enjoying it!

LOL. That pretty much sums it up! ;)
Another fine chapter. I love the interaction of Jamie and Jack. Jack handles fatherhood quite well.
Until the next...
