This entry is mostly for the benefit of the Divine 13, because I can't imagine that anyone else would be interested.
I got the Winter 2006 issue of "Serviam" today. I'm not sure that I've ever actually read "Serviam" before, but for some reason, I read this one with an avidity that is somewhat disturbing in retrospect. (I'm going to go ahead and blame it on my desire to be doing anything other than reading Ulysses.) surprisingly, there was actually some stuff in there that I found interesting. like, hey, apparently Ursuline sports teams don't completely suck now. what's up with that?
the most interesting thing, or so I thought, was the page-and-a-half article about how well the Speech team is doing. I was like, hells yeah, I helped start that team! I was there from the beginning! it's kinda cool that they actually have people going to regional and national tournaments now - especially since I was kind of half-assuming the team would fall apart after Mrs. Sandell moved out to Middle America. also, most of the article was about kids in the class of '05 and '06, who are pretty much the youngest ones I can remember (including Christine Judge, who seems to have disappeared off my livejournal radar). I'd love to be able to think that the success of Speech means that they're getting money from the school, but somehow... I doubt that.
I was weirdly pleased to read about what's going on at UA now. I guess it gave me a kind of "some things change, some things stay the same" feeling. oh, and speaking of things staying the same... the only person from our year who has any information in the "Class Notes" is Caitlin Crowley. who's surprised? look at all those hands.
anyway, I should probably get back to reading Ulysses... hrrmph. I can't wait to see the D13 this weekend (and not just for the sake of breaking the monotony, though that's part of it). yay!
