Fox Kitty is Fine...
This is Fox. Fox currently looks a little bit like a poodle, with two circles shaved around his ankles. He went in for a tooth cleaning yesterday, and came out with a reduced Meow, and a lot of attitude.
We also found out that Fox is Hyperthyroid. Apparently this is very common in cats, esp. cats his age (he's almost 12). Apparently it's treatable with meds, or with radiation or with surgery. We're currently going the medication route. If that doesn't work, we'll do the radiation. He'll have to stay at the vet for a week if we do. It causes radioactive poop. My four year old brain finds that funny.
The vet does not recommend surgery. He says that sometimes the thyroid grows back (?!) if they don't get all the cells.
Spare a thought for Fox if you have a chance. He's my Boober, my snuggly cuddly purrpot, and he really just wants to be loved.
