Ok, not really. I won a 19" Reeves Saxony. An original, made by Rick Reeves himself, signed and dated 19" Saxony! Oh dear god What have I gotten myself into?
The collection is currently at:
The Joy
The Hyacinthe
The little Norwegian
The Matchless
The Roberta
And the Reeves
I really think I have to be done for a while. Really.

But I appreciate your comment! I knew other fiber people would understand. :)

Point being... um, we're all okay. There are um... I have to count. I'm not sure how many wheels are in this room with me right now. Uh. 5. yeah. Yep, 5.

How do you feel about the Journey Wheel? I played with one at sheep and wool, but I wasn't quite sure how I felt about it. It's so different from a freestanding wheel...

That's your Roberta. *sigh*
You're welcome to come play with my Hyacinthe any time you're in the neighborhood!

Re: Hyacinthe: ask Amy King (boogie_babe).
I love love love the Journey Wheel. Yes, it takes some getting used to. But it's my "From my cold, dead hands!" wheel. It's positively brilliant and a workhorse. That should tell you the esteem in which I hold Beth and her daughter Maggie. Of course, Beth has a JW on order, and I have a Lendrum Saxony on order, so... it's like a teaser foster-parent situation for a month.
That said, I don't use it for teaching workshops so much because the Victoria is nigh invisible, and means people can see what I'm doing with my hands from more angles / further away.

The Roberta took some getting used to. I had a long threaded conversation with Ian at Ertoel, and he gave me some excellent tips, many of which I'd have known if I had um, read the instructions. I've been too work stressed to really give her the attention she needs, so I'm taking her to NY with me on Wednesday. I'll have a week in a hotel to play with her.
I'll see if Amy has any suggestions about waxes for wheels.
It's nice to see that the Victoria is holding up. When Jan(?) was demonstrating them at SOAR 2006, they looked and felt kind of rickety. I'll have to consider the Journey Wheel, but not until at least Rhinebeck. I'm kind of spent on the wheel front right now.
Ok, the German Shepherd says it's time for bed. I try not to argue with creatures whose teeth are larger than mine. 'night.
