I'm gonna try to write more. Really.
Dragon*Con
I don't know why there's an asterisk in the name, but maybe it represents ultimate awesomeness. I feel like I only scratched the surface of the con, and I'm already excited about going again next year. I wasn't able to meet up with everyone I wanted to, but I did see lots of friends that I hardly ever get to see, including
cellshade,
lindseyseale, and
namsirc.
I went to listen to Tory from MythBusters, which was really fun. He could talk for hours, given half the chance. He tells a good story. I wish I could tell stories that well, but... I have a unique narrative style, let's say.
I also saw Voltaire perform twice, and he is just cool. I loved his song he wrote for his son, "Goodnight Demonslayer" and of course the classic "Zombie Prostitute," which gets stuck in my head.
Also did some Camarilla gaming and got run over by the Plot Bus, which I actually love. It adds so nicely to the player-driven plot and gives me lots of choices. It was a treat to roleplay with friends from all over, too.
I think the best part of Dragon*Con is that it has the opposite effect of Cam cons - my brain felt smarter afterward, instead of the gradual stupification that happens at Cam cons. I think it's because people expect you to ask intelligent questions at the 10am panels!
And, I lost 5 pounds! That was a lot of walking.
Job Search (Career Transition)
I'm getting better at the interview stuff, and did well at the one I had last week. The job itself, well, no one at the agency wants it, and there were lots of other red flags. But all in all, I think my resume is quite good and I did well being friendly and professional at the same time.
This Place Knows it's September
Florida laughs in the face of September, but here in Atlanta, it's getting down into the 60s at night, and staying under 80 during the day. It is SO. NICE. It feels like November in South Florida.
methuse is really gonna be in trouble when it starts getting colder... A good chance to wear all the toasty warm socks my mom made for him!
Speaking of Knitting
I want to make myself some mittens!
onceupon got me thinking about it, and it might be cold enough by the time I finish making them to wear them. I should also start thinking about what I'm doing about gifts for crismahannukwanzika. This year I vow to not go crazy. Heh. Yeah right.
