So Friday was a really long day. I don't quite remember what happened, but I remember that it sucked. I wanted to go out and have fun afterwards, but David made other plans. Somehow I ended up at church, which was really uncomfortable because (obviously) nobody there knows I'm an atheist. So I just don't talk much, and they assume what they want. It works out better that way because I'm really not out to alienate people, particularly my in-laws, who I love dearly.
On Saturday morning, David and I went to fill out the application at our potential apartment. We were approved, and our tentative move-in date is April 5th. At the time, I thought that it was three weeks away, but apparently it is a little less than two weeks away. Anyhow, so after that I went to Jess' bridal shower while David hung out with Darwin and Will. I drank many Mai Tais with Susan, and it was a lot of fun. Afterwards, we went back to Will, Susan, and Stacey's hotel room in St. Charles. David, Will and I started a game of Arkham Horror. We took a break to go out to dinner with everyone there, plus Jess and Darwin. We finished the game around 12:30 or 1, I think. We won, and I was the First Citizen of Arkham (which just means that I had the most unspent gate trophies at the end).
Sunday began with more church. Luckily, Tegwyn was there to make things more enjoyable. Then we went to David's parents' house with my mom. I played another game of Arkham with David and Jacob. It didn't start out so well, but we won.
So today I got a call from the program director at Sheridan Shores. I am apparently going to start there on the 7th. I don't really know how to approach the topic with some of my clients. Some of them aren't going to care, or aren't going to care for very long. Two of them will probably take a little more adjustment, but I am sure that they will do well in the hands of my very capable co-workers. I took one of them out to Pizza Hut this afternoon and started to direct the conversation in that direction. "So... what would you think about having another case manager?" When all I got was a "Nooooo!" I decided to change the topic. Unfortunately, it seems that word gets around quickly. One of the CNAs approached me at dinner with an "Oh, you're leaving us?" Interestingly, I hadn't actually told anyone outside of Adapt. Not that it's a big deal, but it means that instead of waiting until next week to tell my clients, I think I need to tell them tomorrow before they find out from someone else.
Okay, that's about it. I'm excited and nervous. There's a lot to be done. :) Can't wait.
