Ok folks, here's the rest:
Zombieland (movie): Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg. Any zombie movie is a good zombie movie. It looks like it'll be a fun ride. Zombies have taken over, some humans are left to survive, there are some innovative kills, funny moments and lots of zombies. Good formula.
Twilight New Moon (movie, of course): What I saw was one scene in which Bella was riding a motorcycle that Jacob loans her. As she's riding it, she sees images of Edward and then promptly crashes and whacks her head open. Then we got one in Italy where Bella goes to save Edward. The production has moved to Canada, so it looks a tad different (what I saw at least) and they did shoot in Italy as well, which was beautiful. There was a great deal of screaming on this panel, as was to be expected as I was surrounded by about 6000 screaming girls. It was all in good fine.
Green Lantern: First Flight (animated film direct to DVD): This was a pretty good entry in the DC pantheon of animated features. They've done better, but this is a solid movie. I really really liked Kilowog as voiced by Michael Madsen and would have liked more of him. I also reeeaaallly dug the score. Very dramatic.
Astro Boy (animated movie): What we saw was a trailer cut together for fans at the Con. It looks like it will be a fun kid/family flick with some cute humor.
Sorority Row (horror movie): Eh. Typical horror flick. A group of girls in a sorority house pull a prank that goes HORRIBLY WRONG AND AWFUL THINGS HAPPEN TO EVERYONE INVOLVED!!! Not such a new idea, and I'm hoping for a glimmer of fear lingering about someplace within.
The Box (movie): This is kind of an interesting idea based on a short story called "The Button" by Richard Matheson (a darned genius) and a very popular question from "The Book of Questions". The question is thus -- Someone comes to your house and offers you one million dollars to simply press a button. The catch is that someone in the world whom you do not know will die. Would you do it? Cameron Diaz and James Marsden star (both of whom were there).
Legion (movie): Ok, here's one that piqued my interest. Paul Bettany stars as an angel (one of the major ones) who comes to earth to try to protect man from other angels who are here to end it all for us. There's a baby involved that somehow figures in to the equation. This panel was pretty fun, and Tyrese Gibson and Doug Jones (Silver Surfer and Abe Sapien from Hellboy 2) were having a really good time. Actually everyone seemed to have a good time, but particularly Tyrese Gibson. He's a comic/movie/gamer guy! Who knew! Hot model actor guy is into the Con. I love surprises like that.
Tron (movie): I only caught the trailer of this, but YAY! It looked pretty darned cool. I hope they do it justice. Jeff is back...and he's bad.
Iron Man 2 (movie): Here's my story on this one. I had to step out for a second to give something to one of our friends. I told the lady at the door that I would step right back in and she nodded and said, "Ok." There's a holding area outside of Hall H that is for people who were already inside, but need to step out to get food or a breath of fresh air. So I went to go back inside, and the lady promptly forgot who I was and told me NO, I could not go back inside. I missed it!!! But Keith got to see it and said it looked awesome!!! Of course. He said the best thing was seeing a shot of War Machine (Don Cheadle taking over for Terrence Howard).
That's a good chunk of what I saw, but there were other things on the sales floor that were interesting. I got to sit in an electric chair and watch some clips of horror movies at the Feed Your Fear booth. I also got to see a nifty stargate replica. There were props from Batman and Star Trek that were very nice. There was a really cool Iron Man stage with four different armor suits. There was a giant Pokemon that I wanted to box with and defeat. There were a plethora of small vendors that had cool tshirts, books, etc. All the major studios has booths as well.
I will have to say that one of the most fun things to see at Con is the really innovative and well made costumes. There were a lot of steampunk fans who had some nice hand-made costumes. I saw the best Niblet costume I'd ever seen (Futurama). One of the most amusing was a guy walking around with a large box around him. The box was made to look like a YouTube web page with him in the video portion. Very nice. I saw a lot of good Ghostbuster outfits, some Lara Crofts, a lot of anime characters, some horror costumes, a really nice Captain Jack Sparrow, a great Mal Reynolds (Firefly), a man with a very odd Monty Python inspired thing, a very nicely done Ivy (Batman), some terrifying Wonder Women (one in particular), some really good Venture Brothers costumes, and one amazing Wolverine. The guy's outfit was hand sculpted leather and it looked really really good. There's way too many to mention, but suffice to say that I am truly impressed with the ingenuity of some folks.
Ok. That's all I have for now. If I've left anything out, please poke me with a pointy stick. Thanks.
