"No.. No.. NO!!"

Alex awoke startled, her breath catching, mind racing, sweat pouring down her face and back. She had to warn him.. Had to.. Had to tell him..

She pulled herself out of bed and made her way to her dresser, where she pulled open the top drawer. Rummaging through her underclothes, she curses under her breath. "Where is it.. Where is it?!"

Finally, her hands clasped an object and she pulled it out. It was a small gold locket with a tiny gold chain. She held it tight in her hand and ran out of her room and out of her bungalow into the night.

Alex sprinted toward nearby bungalow and banged on the door, her actions to an outside observer seemingly desperate and frantic.

Moments later someone came shuffling toward the door. Alex shook, her nerves nearly getting the better of her. The door opened and there stood Boone, sans shirt and sleepy-eyed. When he saw Alex, his features contorted in confusion.

"Alex? What's going on? Do you know what time it is?"

Alex pushed past him into his bungalow and shut the door tight. She flashed a worried look his way as she made her way to the living room.

He walked past her to his bedroom and pulled on a shirt before returning. When he entered the living room he found her sitting on the couch, her hand still clutched around what she found.

Boone sat next to her just as she began to sob.

"Alex, what's the matter?"

"I.. Boone, I had a dream."

Boone chuckled comfortingly. "It couldn't have been that bad of a dream."

Alex looked at him straight in the eyes, her features nearly unreadable except for the tears tracking down her face. Boone's smile fell.

"Alex?"

"I dreamed.. I dreamed you were being tortured."

"Tortured? By whom?"

"The smoke monster."

A chill ran through Boone. He pulled in air.

"It was just a dream."

Alex shook her head, her bottom lip wobbling. Boone pulled her into an embrace, his head resting on her shoulder, his hands rubbing her back.

"Alex. It was just a dream. Nothing bad is ever going to happen."

Alex sniffed and looked up at him, her eyes narrowed in concern and near despair. She opened her palm to show him the locket and he leaned back to see.

He took the locket from her hand and opened it, smiling.

"Why did you bring this?"

She shook her head.

"I don't know.."

Boone held up the locket and made sure she could see the contents clearly: it was a photograph of them at the beach, huddled close on a chilly day.

"Nothing will ever happen to pull us away from each other."

Alex sighed.

"I don't ever want anything to happen to you."

Boone smiled.

"I don't think if anybody tried to do something to me they'd be able to get past you to do it."

This brought a slight smile to Alex's face, and she looked him straight in the eyes before planting a kiss on his cheek.

They embraced, and all was well.
