Friday Five Fluff

Sep 29, 2006 13:53

I'm feeling too depressed and misanthropic to write about anything resembling politics today, so here's a fluffy Friday Five instead.

1)What TV show(s) do you find yourself watching the most?

NBC Nightly News.  The Daily Show. Xiaolin Showdown. The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy. The Venture Brothers, InuYasha, the Adult Swim block in general.  Not that I watch most of these on a particularly regular basis either, but if the TV is on and it's not a DVD, it's likely to be one of these. (Escapist? Me?)

2) What if any TV shows do you own on DVD?

Oh lord, way too many to make a complete list without looking at my DVD shelves or having access to my Readerware database.  TV on DVD is the best idea ever.

Let's see, off the top of my head: House (seasons 1 and 2); Lost (season 1); the entire run of Coupling (the British version); the first season of the new Doctor Who;  The Venture Brothers;  Firefly; Wonderfalls; The Tick (the original animated series, not the live-action one); Animaniacs;  I think every Tenchi Muyo variation currently available in the States;  Aqua Teen Hunger Force; a couple of early InuYasha discs; Chappelle's Show; MacGyver; Family Guy; Futurama; Red Dwarf seasons 1-4; a few Lexx discs; a few Andromeda discs, particularly the one containing the episode with James Marsters); MI-5 season 1; a couple of seasons of Buffy; Battlestar Galactica season 1 (the recent series); a couple of early seasons of The West Wing; one season each of The Sopranos, Six Feet Under, Will and Grace, and Sex and the City; at least one season of The X-Files; some French & Saunders; A Bit of Fry and Laurie;  The Muppet Show vol. 1;  Robot Chicken...

3) Can you name your favorite TV show theme song

Massive Attack's "Teardrop", aka the House opening theme.

4) Have you ever been on TV and if so for what?

Once, in high school, on the local NBC channel.  It was a Knowledge Bowl competition.  (Yes, you may all now either laugh or nod in sympathetic recognition. ;))

5) What is your favorite YouTube video.

At this moment, it's a toss-up between Where the hell is Matt? or the Free Hugs campaign. They both make me smile.
