Nifty little toy thingie from Last.fm, allowing you to share your dubious musical taste with the world. ;) Bonus points for those who recognize the source of the chosen background image.

My first call was Penny Arcade -0 the style is similar, but no hair styles match. It's a bass guitar though :)

Nope, it's from FLCL, a demented anime series.

It's a bass guitar though :)

It is apparently a left-handed Rickenbacker bass guitar with a pull cord start motor.

Isn't it from a gorillaz video?

Don't think so, although I don't know for sure. (I don't think I've ever actually seen a Gorillaz video.) It's from FLCL, which is a rather demented anime series.

*chuckles* yay, that had been my second guess. And in which case, no, it's not from a Gorillaz video. They've they're own animation. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gorillaz has some good examples of the art.

Is that from FLCL? (I haven't seen it yet, though it is on my queue, and I am wildly guessing.)

Yep, that's it. I sort of watched it on Adult Swim...it made my head hurt.

(I forgot that the URL that it links to would also pretty much give it away, if anyone happened to look. ;))

Bren got addicted to it when he watched it then, but he also said it made his head hurt. *g*

(I rather like anime that does that....)

He's now watching Excel Saga, and the throw-the-head-back-and-hold-the-gut laughter echoes through the house. *g*

Excel Saga wins. Oh god, the funny. I thought it was hysterical and I even know that I'm only getting maybe half the jokes.

TAKUN! <3

You really need to see it in Japanese with subs. The voice acting is just much, much better. (And the dialogue is more authentic and has better jokes, although that's kinda useless to you without at least a passing familiarity with Japanese.)

I wasn't terribly impressed with the voice acting, so I don't have any problem believing the original might be better. =) The jokes would go over my head I'm afraid, not having any familiarity with Japanese to speak of.

I've got all of the episodes fansubbed in .avi format, if you'd like me to find somewhere I can stick 'em? They're fairly decent quality, and (IIRC) even have some "Editor's Notes" type explanations of some of the weirder shit.
