Since nobody expressed any interest in getting together for dinner tonight and my shoes (which literally filled with water on my walk over this morning; it was only drizzling when I left!) are still soggy, I'm leaning strongly towards staying in with room service and my "Planet Earth" DVDs. Soggy, gross shoes trump scallion pancake, apparently. [Edit: The problem with the room service idea is that I don't really want anything on the menu except for an omelette, which I can't have right now. Meh.]
I must say that the $150 cost of this conference is a crazy good value. Two full days of
technical sessions (most of which have been good), swag that includes two books, a tshirt and various other stuff, catered breakfast/lunch/happy hour with open bar. So far, so good. (Although
this tweet, it's funny because it's true. Well, there are more than 4 of us, but I doubt it's more than 20 out of a 300 person conference.) The Themeroller/CSS framework has been the best so far, but I gather some of the ones I missed were good as well. Seems like every time there was a conflict, I chose incorrectly. ;) I think I'm going to skip the Q&A wrap-up session tomorrow in favor of getting on the road to head home. Now I just need to figure out how to manage the car since my parking pass for the hotel expires at 3 PM.
