You can always tell it's going to be a good day when... your office manager is a hot older lady in a tight suit..
As mentioned yesterday, I watched Good Night and Good Luck. This film chronicles the crusade by Edward R. Murrow against Junior Senator McCarthy and his Communist Witch-hunts. Filmed in warm and soft black and white, it evokes the era of early television broadcasting and the story is one that inspires and teaches in equal measures. And therein lies the greatest triumph of this film. Despite being set many years ago, anyone can see that the story of an over-acting goverment has resonance with today's political climate. Anyone with a head on their shoulders should watch this film. And anyone with an interest in media work, had to to watch this film, no cinematic experience before it has ever shown the importance of our role in such clarity.
On the complete and utter flipside of this, I have been watching 24: Series 2. This show is a guilty pleasure. This show is all bells and whistles, one action scene after another, and I love it. I am so hooked. Sometimes I worry about how easily I get attached to shows, I could quite easily spend all my waking life wading through my backlog of shows. I have Kidnapped, Six Degrees, Smith and Jericho pilots to watch, and any (or even all) could become regulat downloads, as long with The Nine, Battlestar Galactica, Lost, Veronica Mars, Deadwood, Jeremiah, West Wing and others!
Work is going well, today we were doing Chroma Key work and tracking, working with Smallville as a base footage. Have I mentioned I love my job... And is anyone gonna play my film quote game with me? I made it easy for you today...
