A Fable Correction

Aug 21, 2010 13:43

Previously Myrrh and I have complained about Fable and the general idea that you're going to be dirt poor if you want to be a hero and not a bad guy. I am forced to reclaim that comment in new light.

It is actually easier to become filthy rich as a good guy than a bad guy.

Here's how it goes. If you're a bad guy you can make more money in the short term stuff, like quests and what not. However, as a good guy, you can become the freaking king/queen of the country! What happens is as a good person you must force yourself to do part time jobs until you're about ready to poke your eyes out and toss your xbox 360 system out the door. Then you use the money you made (which needs to be in the 60,000 range) to purchase realeaste in Bowerstone. It is mostly suggested you start with big things, like the blacksmith shop, or the inn, the potions store, and the like.

Every five minutes of gametime you will then be given rent for the properties you own. If you leave your xbox plugged in at night, you'll even make money when you aren't playing the game. You MUST be a good guy in order to make money on this, at least at first at any rate. First of all you can't kill off any owners of the properties, because you'll never make as much money as you would have by just buying them out.

You can make sooooo much money this way it's rediculous. I only casually invest in property, and I'm making roughly 8,000 gold every 5 minutes. Plus I get a 39 percent discount if I shop at any of my stores, so I save loads of money on weapons, potions, and books.

So there you guys have it. If you want to be well off, be a bad guy. If you want to be disgustingly rich, be a hero! ;)
