Summary:
The BBC apparently gave a old school Walkman to a 13-year-old and asked him to use it for awhile. What is particularly funny (yet also scary) about this article is how clueless the kid was. It makes me wonder if we are raising a new generation of kids who are completely dumb when it comes to anything to the past that they aren't used to. This kid was shocked at the size of the Walkman and seems to consider his parents (and anyone who every used one) stupid for ever taking it seriously as a piece of technology. I mean, duh, technology will obviously always improve as time passes. (Would iPods exist without the Walkman? Probably not!) And finally, if kids supposedly can learn new technology so quickly why did it take this 13-year-old three days to figure out the cassette tape had a second side?
