TV commentary:

Walking Dead- Heh, there was a recap that I did think have a point about Daryl's "He's Nobody!" comment. I mean, I get his sentiment, he's trying to act all cool and tough. But at the same time, as whatever reviewer that was said, even if Beta was an asshole who had been terrorizing them and now he's dead, if you saw under his mask and it was someone totally famous, that does merit shock and surprise!

Star Trek: Lower Decks- The last few eps have been really solid, and the season finale keeps it up. I wasn't expecting them to go the route they went with Mariner's secret. First off, the rest of the crew finds out rather quickly that Freeman's her mom, but rather than it being a thing where her mother gets in trouble, now everyone is all of a sudden cozying up to Mariner, thinking she can get them in good with the Captain. I was also shocked they killed off Shaxs.

Anyways, as silly as the show can be, these stories aren't too outlandish. "Those Old Scientists" and the TNG crew (heh, I wonder if they'll come up with a similar acronym for TNG) solve a problem, but given a long enough timeline, who's to say those threats don't pop up again, but more serious?

But some big things to end on. Like I said, Shaxs died. Rutherford has basically lost his memory. And Boimler is now on the Titan, having gotten a promotion, which really pisses off Mariner. Particularly given his confession during the attack, where he was all, he didn't think he would get the promotion regardless, but Mariner going for it, she could probably get it if she did actually try, so he would miss her. Yet, when the shoe's on the other foot, he actually does take off!

Supernatural- Heh, it is amusing they came back from the hiatus with a filler episode. I mean, the concept was interesting, that there was a whole aspect to the bunker they were unaware of, but at the same time, between the British MoL and visits by higher beings who I swear effed up some of the wardings in the bunker, I feel they would have discovered Mrs. Butter before then. Well that or she would've been accidentally (or purposely) destroyed by the aforementioned.

But I like how things ended amicably and they didn't have to kill her. But argh, really, she couldn't elaborate on the telescope thing? I think the boys do know Chuck is destroying other universes, but she also said with her gone that would affect the functionality of some of the new bunker stuff they discovered since it no longer has her magic to draw on. So if they don't see anything, they might chalk it up to her being gone. So she couldn't just be all, "That might mean everything else is destroyed!"

The Boys- Great season finale. Nice wrap up to things and set up for the next season. So Stormfront gets dead. So after getting beat down by Maeve, Kimiko, and Starlight, she runs off, but gets stabbed in the eye by Becca. Then when she tries to kill Becca, Ryan freaks out and blasts Stormfront pretty bad. Anyways, with the reveal that she was a Nazi (thanks to A-Train giving Hughie and Annie the files stolen from the Church of the Collective detailing that), and Maeve's blackmail tape of the airplane debacle, things are back to normal. Starlight is back on the Seven (she could've left, but she thinks someone needs to be on the team to right the ship), with the story being she was framed by Stormfront.

And its kinda insane some people are still trying to defend Stormfront and claim she's not a nazi when she brings up the white genocide thing, and that her kind is being attacked by the other, "lesser" races. Its like, there's no way to explain that away, she's definitely a racist!

But yeah, unfortunately, when Ryan killed Stormfront, he also accidentally killed his mom. Though I'm not sure how that all works out. So somehow, he burned Stormfront very badly, as well as cut off her arms and legs in seemingly one blast, at the same time he only hit his mom's carotid? (Also, wouldn't his laser beams have cauterized things?) I just don't get how what he did physically worked.

Anyways, before she dies, Becca makes Butcher promise to take care of Ryan. And with the aforementioned blackmail tape, Maeve tells Homelander if he messes with any of them, she'll release it. Even if he kills them, his reputation will be ruined forever. So he acquiesces. Which is still scary, because they have something over on him now, but he's a fucking psycho. If he can wiggle out from under them, they're all fucked.

So like I said, Starlight is back on the Seven, as is A-Train. The Boys are free, MM goes back to his family, Annie and Hughie are still together, Frenchie and Kimiko are going off on their own. And Neuman is starting a department of Supe affairs.

Which leads us to the biggest thing to happen. So it turns out Alistair is making deals with Vought (and that the Church has its origins with Stormfront and her former allies). Even though he knows A-Train leaked the files, since its worked out for them, Alistair gets A-Train back on the team. Heh, poor Deep is still out. Oh, and Victoria Neuman is in their pocket!

So it seems like Alistair and the Collective are being set up as next season's antagonists. BUT THEN! Alistair's head gets exploded... by Neuman!! Turns out she's the one who killed everyone over the season. And its kinda brilliant too, because I went back and watched the previous ep, and yes, she totally looks at several people before their heads blow up. Now, the way its filmed, if you don't know that, it can be excused as her being used as a sort of POV surrogate for the audience. Like she's seeing all these people blowing up before her very eyes, and we think the focus on her is to demonstrate panic over what the hell is happening. But knowing the truth, the scene does look very different, her looking all over the place is her targeting people.

It will definitely be interesting to see how this plays out, particularly with Hughie deciding to work for her, not knowing she's a secret supe in Vought's pocket.
