TV commentary:
The Originals- Finally!
Those loser nobody nightwalkers are finally gone. Glad they weren't the final enemy the Mikaelsons had to face, because they were pathetic losers. Even if the show cheated and lets them get over on the Mikaelsons, Marcel, and Vincent even though they're way above their weight class.
Like I get you have to put the protagonists in peril or else it gets boring, but its ridiculous. I mean, Marcel getting KO-ed by some rando witch? Making it even more ridiculous was when Josh went to rescue him and set of the alarm spell, he was quicker than Marcel was, immediately ripping the throat open of said witch before he could so anything.
But yeah, to try and sate Hope's hollow voices, he captures Roman and has Hope take out her frustration on him. Only he's just a dumb kid, and her merciful side gets the better of her, so torturing him does nothing. Antoinette of course asks Elijah to ask for mercy for her brother. Klaus won't have it at first, until they come up with a new plan.
Antoinette and Elijah call for a meeting of the nightwalkers, luring them to the church and acting like they want to finally take the reigns. Only, its a trap for those nobody losers, and Hope slaughters them all with one devastating spell, which seems to cease the voices for now.
Too bad there are two issues. One, little did they know Declan was upstairs with someone from the archdiocese to look at his uncle's records. They are unfortunately also hit by the spell, which is bad because that could trigger Hope's werewolf curse. Klaus saves him, but unfortunately, they had no idea the other guy was there until Declan asks about him. And that guy is way dead. So Hope's a werewolf now!
Secondly, they annoyingly don't stop the nightwalkers before Josh is a casualty. So like I said, the nightwalkers capture Marcel through plot bs, and milk his fangs to use against the Mikaelsons. Josh manages to successfully rescue Marcel, but not before getting a plunger full of Marcel's venom straight to the heart, so not enough time to get the cure.
Which is total friggin BS. I get its the last season and they're thinning the hurd, but I thought we were done with this bury your gays BS. Yes, we see Josh is in the afterlife reunited with Aiden? But you know what's a better ending to Josh's story? Getting to live and reunite with his previously dead love, like with Kol and Davina!
Other stuff, so the poison Ivy and the other witches took was laced with vampire blood, so they rise again, and have to choose to transition or die as witches. Ivy wants to die as a witch, so Vincent shows her the ancestral well, all, "this place is horrible! We trap our ancestors here to tap their magic, even though its torture for them!"
So he and the other witches decide to make a big decision- free the ancestors and get their magic from the Earth itself. That way when Ivy dies, she can move on. Geez, didn't they care when Davina died and she was trapped there? They couldn't cleanse the wellspring then?
Owel, it'll be interesting where they go from here, since the current antagonists are all dead and the Hollow is quiet for now.
