TV commentary:

The Expanse- Well, that was exciting! So we pick up where we last left off, with the gang outside the facility, seeing the hybrid pods being launched into space. Alex tries to shoot them done, but only gets a few. And unfortunately, they're incorporating stealth tech, making them impossible to track.

But there's nothing Holden, Amos, Prax, and Bobbie can do about that, so they continue they're infiltration into the building. Which, given the Roci is a Mars vessel, and thus all the space suits are Martian in design, plus Bobbie has her powered armor, Mao and Strickland think its a Martian incursion. They fight their way through the base, eventually running into hybrid kid, whom Bobbie draws away while the guys finish their mission to rescue Mae and the other kids. Its a long drawn out fight for her, and just when it has her down, it is luckily distracted by something (more on what that prolly was later), allowing her to machine gun it in the he head to death.

Anyways, the guys find out access to the pods cannot be controlled from the base, they were transferred over to the Agatha King, so that's an issue for Alex and Naomi to deal with. Holden manages to capture Mao, which is quite surprising to him since he thought they were Martians. (Even more surprising to him later is when he takes him to Chrisjen, again, because Holden and her randomly out there together is weird)

Strickland, meanwhile, worm that he is, locks the kids away to use as leverage, then immediately shoots the lab tech with him just as Amos and Prax get there all, "I surrender, see, I shot this lady who locked the kids away wanting to use them as leverage!" With the kids recovered, Prax gets ready to execute Strickland for his shit, but Amos tells Prax he's not that guy. So, he sends Prax back to his daughter, but then tells Strickland that he is that guy though, and totally kills Strickland.

Up in orbit, Avasarala figures out the pods are heading towards Mars, it makes the most sense given Mao and Errinwright's attitudes. They know the Agatha King has control of the pods, but they also see it was hit with a pod itself, so its full of protomolecule. Since Alex still has family on Mars, obviously, he doesn't want the planet to get hit, so he and Naomi head over to try and stop them.

They land and Naomi tries to abort the pods, to no avail. Indeed, a dying and infected Nguyen is still on the bridge, spouting out anti-Martian hate and taunting them. Down below, Cotyar was freed by random soldier girl who escape an attacking proto-zombie, but got infected herself. Cotyar finds an environment suit, but between the time he was free and the time Naomi and Alex get on the ship, he gets infected. Knowing how dangerous the protomolecule is though, he decides to blow the ship by making the core go critical.

Unfortunately, Alex and Naomi can't contact him to stop him, and the reactor goes critical, killing him. That gives Naomi only 10 minutes to try and reprogram the pods, which is impossible, so the best she can do is turn on all the transponders so they can at least be tracked. So, the Mars space defense system might be able to shoot them down. But all it takes is one to get through.

So, Naomi goes to the guys and tells them Fred Johnson still had the leftover missiles from when they tried to shoot down Eros station, and he could prolly use them to destroy the pods. She realizes that her problem last time was she kept the guys in the dark. So this time she's upfront. She can go to Fred, but they all have to agree. And this time, they agree with her, because he is their last best hope.

And so she contacts him, saying this will help ease tensions in the system, and earn him a huge amount of goodwill if he saves Mars. And so he does, shooting down all the pods.

Back on Earth, they're a little behind on things due to the delay it takes for communications to get to them. So they're still back on when part of the Earth fleet mutinied. Esteban is still freaking out on what to do, but lucky for him, Anna shows up and shows him the recording. He immediately arrests Errinwright, who says he did it because Sorento-Gillis is a spineless loser who cares more about himself than the planet. Errinwright may have done shady things, but he claims it was for the good of Earth.

And sadly, his words to Sorento-Gillis weren't entirely wrong. Because after he's arrested, Esteban tells Anna, "Whew, I was going to go down in history as the guy who presided over this conflict, but thanks to you, I have a convenient scapegoat to protect my legacy!" Anna is obviously displeased at his statement.

In the end, a huge protomolecule structure emerges from the surface of Venus, this was prolly what distracted Hybrid-kid. Unfortunately, we'll have to wait til next week to see what comes of all this.
