TV commentary:

OUAT- Hey, lots of familiar faces, though they kinda cheated! Pan, Ariel, Cruella, the Sorcerer's Apprentice. But not really, as these are the wishrealm versions of them.

Anyways, Wish-Rumpel kidnaps Ella and Lucy to try and force Henry to steal the Dark One's Dagger. Wish-Rumpel wants to stop Rumpel from freeing himself from the dagger, because arbitrarily it would cause Wish-Rumpel to lose his powers too. Which doesn't really make sense, but whatever, we're in the final two hours.

Turns out, it was a long con though. So the ep begins with Wish-Rumpel meeting up with a younger Henry who just got friend-zoned by some nameless princess. We're led to believe this is Henry on one of his adventures before bumping into Ella. Wish-Rumpel is even all, "remember that time when you were younger when I offered you a deal?"

But as it turns out, its not. So, apparently Wish-Rumpel predicted Henry would go to his mom and Nook and Rumpel for help. And that they would still be no match for him, so Henry goes to Wish-Sorcerer's Apprentice to find out where the pen is, then gets the ink from Cruella's hair.

Only, this turns out to be just as planned! Because the Henry we saw in the beginning was Wish-Henry who's kinda a dick, since Regina had killed his grandparents to try and snap out of Emma out of things, and then when she finally did, she took Emma back to the real world, leaving Wish-Henry all alone. So he wants revenge against Regina and to get the happy ending that's eluded him.

And so, since he also has Author powers, being a Henry, he uses the pen and ink Henry so helpfully procured to write away the Guardian's powers. Then Wish-Rumpel sends Nook, Rumpel, and Henry to the same prison globe as Ella and Lucy, leaving Regina to Henry. Let's not forget, to Wish-Henry, she's the EQ who killed Snow and Charming, so she would look like a bad guy to everyone in this realm.

Anyways, Alice senses her powers go away, and so she and Robin go off to save the day, hoping Tiana could help. She doesn't have enough Beignet-magic to open portal, so she implores her subjects to see if they have some sort of magical item that could help.

And lo and behold, some guy named Remy (who apparently is a reference to Rattatouille, I totally missed a reference to Wreck-It Ralph earlier in the season too) has a magic bean which he gives to Tiana, who lets Alice and Robin use it to get to Storybrooke to get help. Wait, wouldn't that cause weird time issues? Like given how little time passed since defeating Goethel, it should still be close to Henry's graduation. I guess maybe Henry could've left immediately on his journey, but it would be a while before Regina joined him. And young Robin should still be around.

So do they have to avoid bumping into certain people not to cause a time paradox?

once upon a time, tv
