TV commentary:

Game of Thrones- Whoops! So the plan to get a wight does not go well. I mean, they manage to get one, but lose Thoros (and some randoms) in the process. Then when Dany comes to rescue them (really, no one has called her Dany on the show in a long while? I guess I just do it because its a pain in the ass to try and spell out), the Night King takes out Viseryon, and unbeknown to them, raises it as an ice-dragon later.

Actually, I guess Benjen also unnecessarily dies saving Jon since he got pulled into the lake in the fracas and the gang has no choice but to leave without him lest they fall prey to another ice spear. Well, maybe it was necessary for him to stay behind to draw the wights to him, otherwise they wouldn't have been able to outrun them in the horse.

It does seem like a lot of people are shitting on this ep because of little things like the insane travel times- Gendry running to Eastwall, sending a raven to Dragonstone and Dany getting their with the dragons in a matter of hours. Which is a fair nitpick, but whatever, I'm not as annoyed by it as other people seem to be.

People complaining about the stupidity of the plan, losing a dragon to convince Cersei when she could give a rat's ass even if they give her proof. But they're missing the bigger picture- I mean, the fact that other folks are being invited to King's Landing means this is a big deal. Cersei maybe whatever, but it will go a long way in convincing other people of the threat. Maybe the meisters will stop being assholes. The lords of the North will stop thinking they might be indulging a mad man.

Or the weirdness where they killed a Walker, and all its wights died except for one. Thinking about it, it makes sense to intersperse wights amongst groups not led by the person who created them. That way if X's wights die, if there are any in another group they'll know, "Oh, X died! Let's check it out!"

So I'm not as frustrated about that stuff as some people seem to be. I am frustrated by the Arya/Sansa conflict. I think Arya is being way too hostile. My only hope is the sisters are somehow playing Littlefinger, trying to make him think he succeeded in sowing discord before getting him in a trap.

The Strain- Ugh, Zach's one of those. I get it sucks that he found out Abby had a boyfriend. But being all, "Oh, I did everything right, how dare you not go out with me!" and when she says love doesn't work like that, he lets her get bitten by his pet. Hopefully we don't get a redemption arc for this piece of crap. I mean, he already sent he world into a nuclear winter because of a tiff with his dad, now he got an innocent girl killed because he's a fuckboy neckbeard. He's not worth saving.

Glad they didn't fridge Rhoan Mitra's character. Fet does break up with her, since Quinlan is thinking of the time that lady and her daughter got killed by the Master because they knew him, and he thinks it will affect Fet's ability to be all in. But lucky they did leave, because she's able to snipe Eichorst and stop him from shooting down their plane, which she couldn't have done if she was on the plane. That's better than her dying to show Fet he can't have attachments.
