TV commentary:
Criminal Minds- Heh, they kinda answer it, but they don't.
So turns out Cat and Lindsey are lesbian lovers! Which, that's fine and cool, but they actually never answered HOW they met. I guess its ultimately irrelevant, but it would be a nice detail to know.
I mean, they were trying to figure out how Cat and Lindsey knew each other, and why Lindsey wanted revenge. Like they guessed, she was mad at Reid for trying to stop her dad from killing her kidnapper, who murdered her best friend. But that doesn't really make sense. Because 1) Her father DID blow the guy away, and 2) they face no consequences for killing said guy! Lindsey and her dad do end up estranged, but they never explain why. Because again, he did what she asked, with no repercussions!
But then the team figure out Cat and Lindsey are married, and they're all, that's the dynamic! Though that doesn't really explain why Lindsey would go along with it. Like, she's a hit woman, so I guess its not like she has a strong moral compass. But it would have been interesting to see she had more skin in the game than, she's just doing it because her gf said to. After all, Cat wants revenge on Reid for tricking and arresting her, while once a long time ago Reid told Lindsey's dad to not do something for her, but he did anyways.
I suppose they were dating, so Lindsey would want revenge on the guy responsible for locking up her gf. And it she did have a stronger motive, things wouldn't have ended the way they did. Reid ended up outsmarting Cat again by secretly taping their convo and having the team show it to Lindsey.
So Cat tries to mess with Reid, saying when Reid was dosed, she had Lindsey pretend to be Maeve in order to get his sperm so Cat could be impregnated with it. But really, she just had sex with that one a-hole guard in Reid's prison. I knew he was shady! After all, he did put Reid in gen pop despite the paperwork.
And so, they reveal to Lindsey that Cat was willing to cheat on her with some rando guard in order to eff with Reid's head. So she gives herself up without blowing them all up. So like I said earlier, I guess if she had a stronger motive against Reid, that wouldn't have worked.
I'm still confused though. So they act like Lindsey was unaware of the plan. But while Reid's memories of that time weren't the most reliable, the manipulations were within reason. Like, he thought he stabbed the woman, but its because Lindsey got him to, so there are actual memories of the bloody knife in his hand, he just didn't know the context.
So if he remembers thinking Maeve was there, that would only happen if Lindsey did indeed pretend to be her! So either Cat was lying and somehow Reid conjured a lost memory, or Lindsey did indeed say those lines, but didn't get Reid's sperm? But then what the hell did Lindsey think she was accomplishing by pretending to be Maeve?
Anyways, heh, even though Morgan was in the commercials, he only shows up in the last five minutes, because he got a fake text from Penelope, which was really from Mr Scratch. The text was, "Reid's out of prison, meet him and his mom at this safehouse". Morgan was naturally suspicious and confused, because apparently no one freaking told him Reid had been imprisoned! Though an FBI agent accused of murdering a Mexican citizen in Mexico? Wouldn't that have made the news? Or gotten to Morgan somehow?
So yeah, the team, sans Reid, go to check out the house, but are ambushed on the road. They run into some spike strips, then a truck rams into one of their trucks, where Emily prolly gets the brunt of the impact. Hopefully no one dies!
But heh, they ask Morgan to come, but he declines, saying he promised his kid he would never wake up without Morgan there. Then Morgan goes to Penelope and is all, "Yeah, I'm taking an extended visit, so I can see Reid and his mom!" What happened to his promise to his kid?
