TV commentary:
Stranger Things- Finally finished this. It was pretty good overall. And I think they do a good job of mostly wrapping things up while still leaving it open for another season. Here's some random comments.
Poor Barb! That kinda sucks that she got killed. So it was kinda sad there in the end with the boys all cheery in the hospital room since Will is back, and then Nancy thinks about how her own friend didn't make it.
Which is another thing, so what do Barb's parents think happened to her? Will they be told the truth? Do Mike and Nancy's parents even know the whole truth? And what happened with the bully kid and his mom who were wanting to file charges against 11?
Its weird, because it sounds like Hopper made that deal that they wouldn't say anything if he and Joyce would be allowed through the gate to rescue Will. But that was of course before everyone who went to the school got killed. (Which going back to the hospital room scene, that's kinda dark when the boys are telling Will about 11 and how she killed a dozen people with her mind, like made blood come out of their eyes and stuff. You'd think that would be traumatic). Like I don't know who responded to the school after, but that's a whole big mess and a lot of corpses to clean up. What the hell does the town happened at the school?!
Even though Brenner died (well, we don't see for sure, I guess), those feds come up to Hopper at the hospital, implying there's still a deal going on. It seems like there's too much to cover up at this point though- and if you look at the articles on the police station wall, it sounds like Joyce totally accused the labs of wrong doing. Though I guess there was also an article about the lab making a denial, and the outside coroner and state police seemingly being thrown under the bus for their role in the cover up.
And interesting, is El alive? Again, its weird, because Hopper leaving the food in the box in the forest seems less a weird memorial and more the box being a contact point and she's going to get it later. Because if it was the former, that's a random place for a memorial. I mean, I think that could be the place first bumped into her, but Hopper was never there for that, and that still doesn't seem like a significant enough place to set up something to remember her by. So he must know she's still alive and that putting the stuff in the box will get to her.
Finally, what's happening with Will? Is he infected? Is it PTSD? Was he not saying anything to his family because they were happy and he didn't want to bring them down? Or is it like some alien thing mind controlling him to make him act like nothing's wrong?
