Its been a hectic week, so I haven't been behind on show commentary, but here's everything I gots to say:
TV commentary:
The Fosters- Red flag, Callie!
So Justina told Callie this story about how she was inspired to help the foster system, because of a friend she had when she was a kid. So, Callie does some research to try and find this girl, but instead finds a video of Justina telling that same story, but with her as the friend. So Callie is all, what's up with that? And Justina tells her, well, no one cared when I gave this sob story about a friend of mine, but people really listened when I said it was about me, and says its part of the game, what's a little white lie if it gets stuff into the coffers. "Oh, btw, didn't you say your friend needed a job so she could keep her job, so aren't you kinda being a user? Here's a job for your friend, let us talk no more about me being a liar!"
Which speaking of, heh, Daphne's trial to get her kid back went awful. It was kinda hilarious that the lawyer asked Callie, didn't Daphne beat your ass in juvie? So Callie is all, "Well, that was before she knew me!" so the lawyer fires right back, so, Daphne beats up random strangers? Also funny, when Callie tries to draw parallels between Tasha and her own experiences, how she's sure her foster parents are good people and care for her just like Stef and Lena do, but if her birth parent came back wanting her, she would want that. Tell that to Robert!
Also funny, Mariana talks to Brandon about her romance woes (why?!) and mentions sleeping with Wyatt (which wait, did he not know that?) and Brandon is all, "Well, I have someone I regret sleeping with to, it was awful!" which Callie overhears. So later she's all, "Fuck you, asshole!" but he has to say, he was talking about the time Dani slept with him, which was statutory at the time. Again, its weird the other kids don't know, but I guess its not something he or the rents would advertise. Like, I guess Dani had already broken up with Mike at that point, so as far as the rest of them knew, she was just gone.
The Magicians- Wait, are they implying what I think they are? That's pretty effed up!
So Martin was apparently being molested by the Fillory writer guy? Which given the parallels between Fillory and Narnia and the elder children they were not being able to come back because they were more adult, it didn't keep him out because he lost his "innocence", did it? Maybe I'm reading too much into things. Because that would be beyond messed up, since he wanted to go to Fillory to flee the horrible-ness of being molested, but being unable to because he was molested and no longer considered "pure".
Also, did they really just introduce a queer woman of color just to have Julia assisted suicide her?
NCIS- Hey, Samantha Logan as Taye Digg's daughter, cool, she's cute, always nice to see her in stuff since she's apparently disappeared from the Fosters and they killed her off on Teen Wolf. But heh, interesting, so I didn't know Taye Diggs was a Broadway person until well into his career. I mean, I've known for more than a decade now, but I first saw him in stuff like Way of the Gun and Equilibrium and the trailer for How Stella Got her Groove Back before I found out he was in Rent. But yeah, even though he has a musical background, he's definitely had a pretty good career beyond that. That being said though, it seems they purposely got him because they wanted him to sing at the end, which is a little weird to me. But cool, singing Marine Sniper.
Faking It- Weird, is Lisbeth gone because of Scream Queens? But they killed her off on that.
Nice to see Amy and Lauren bond, because honestly, I think Lauren has more of a bone to pick with Amy than Karma does. Like, that was totally weird for their parents to get divorced and Amy to be all, "Stay here instead of going with your dad, this school is great for you and I love you being my sister!" than taking off.
At least with Karma, Amy had to leave for the sake of their friendship. I mean, I feel bad for Karma, but like Amy said, she needed to take care of herself first. And at least Karma is from there, its not like with Lauren whom Amy said to stay and then just left her. Hopefully Karmey patches stuff up soon.
Also, weird writing choice with Liam. Oh, he finds out his birth father is dead. But he's also learned he's Jewish! Isn't that stuff actually passed along the mother's side, so he wouldn't be actually considered Jewish?
Rizzoli and Isles- stv('How Rude!')
Seriously, I get this is the person who's been after Jane and her family, but either take a break from Korsak's wedding, or tell him, crap, I need to take care of this. It is totally weird for them to take the call on the day of his wedding and then him delaying it for her for several hours and having to postpone.
And Kiki better not have been the one who got shot, I hate that trope, Korsak better have not just gotten a wife just for her to get shot to get manpain!
Criminal Minds- Are you kidding me, this show, too.
Just like I said for Rizzoli and Isles, they better have not have Savannah die to give Morgan manpain. I mean, she gets preggers only to get sniped? I mean, they already killed Hotch's wife, Gideon's girlfriend, even Strauss dying became about Rossi. Stop killing women to make the dudes feel bad!
The Americans- Heh, that's so weird.
Paige really feels guilty about saying the Pledge of Allegiance, so she has to hide so she doesn't have to say it?!
And heh, Stan unknowingly almost got him and Philip infected because he thought he was sleeping with his wife. Though to be fair, it did look kinda flirty at the bar. But woah, so Phillip murdered a bully when he was but a child? And the weird EST guy is trying to get him to work through this incident, but Phillip has to be evasive, because he can't very well say, "Oh, I murdered someone when I was a kid, that's why I'm feeling conflicted!"
