TV commentary:

The Librarians- Hmm, I was wondering with Falling Skies being done if Noah Wyle would be a regular on the show now. But interesting, while it did start as Flynn as the main librarian with Eve as his guardian and the others doing their own thing (they were a team for a while, but had went their separate ways due to petty squabbles, each working on their own cases), because of the events of the first two eps, its back to the gang working out of the Library with Flynn of on his own quest.

Ha, it was amusing to see Flynn trying to constantly catch kissing time with his gf, and he and Eve actually make good partners, I guess now they're on a break? Since I think he's been Librarian longer than anyone else, he trusts his methods. Its just too seat of the pants for Eve. I mean, Flynn is good, so his boasting is warranted, but as Eve says, he can only say he's never failed, because when he finally does fail, he most likely won't be around after to be all, "okay, I'm only mostly successful". So he's sticking with his method that works for him, and the gang is sticking with the method that works for them, and hopefully they'll meet with success in their endeavors like last time.

I do like this season's villains though- Fictionals, famous literary characters taken form. Heh, what the hell though, Flynn finds the Sherlock book, and he assumes this professor guy named James is Sherlock, and not freaking JAMES Moriarty? And I love that they got Frankenstein's monster right. He's not some big dumb golem like creature. Well, I mean, he is still physically powerful, but he's actually quite intelligent. And I'm amused that they didn't defeat him by trying to take him head on but by giving him what the Monster of the story was seeking- validation and love.

Heh, also, I guess they have to pick certain characters who's rights aren't in contention, so stuff like the classics. But really, if Prospero could take anyone out of any book, there are tons of better routes he could go for helpers and hencmen. Not that Moriarty and Frankenstein's Monster are slouches.

OUAT- Heh, because of the time jump/memory loss, its like they're moving in circles. The gang tries to contact Merlin, shocked that according to Regina and Emma's convo from last week, they already had freed him and talked to him. So they try using the shroom, but it only works for one of Merlin's chosen. So they give it to Arthur, not knowing he had betrayed them in Camelot. And so he betrays them again, acting like it didn't work. But they figure out he's lying, so they're back to where they were last week, with them knowing Arthur is shady and having to find another way.

Luckily, Henry is also a chosen, and he uses the shroom to get like a magical equivalent of a visual voicemail telling them they need to seek out some chick named Nimue to defeat the Dark One.

In the enchanted past, the gang frees Lancelot and Merida, and at one point, Merida separates herself and Belle from the pack and knocks her out and absconds with her. I guess I was wrong about Arthur having taken her brothers- it was the other clans, she just got captured by Arthur for trying to steal a boat to get to where she needed to go. Anyways, she takes Belle since she seems smart in the hopes that she could help her use the cauldron in that witch's house from the movie in order to find her brother.

She sees them, but also sees they're about to be executed at the end of the day. So, she has Belle mix up the potion that changes fate so she can turn into a bear and maul her enemies. Also- we learn it isn't just because she's a girl that they have no confidence in her leadership. Apparently the clans were at war with some enemy, and in a great battle, some guy was sneaking up on her dad, so she tried to shoot the guy, but she missed, and thus the guy killed her dad. So they kinda blame her for his death.

So she and Belle confront the other clan heads (her prospective suitors from the movie) and quaffs the potion, only for Belle to say she gave her a vial of water, and she can defeat these guys without the help of magic (plus, if she uses magic, she still won't get the respect of the people). She just needs her confidence back by being forced to be heroic. And so she does, saving her brothers from executing by shooting the arrows fired at her brothers with one arrow from her bow. They're saved and the clans bow to her.

In the present, Rumpel escapes, and so Emma forces Merida to try and kill Belle. Rumpel wants to flee, getting some anti-transformation powder from his shop first so they can cross the border. But Belle doesn't want to run, especially since their (well, her) friends need them! They get cornered by Merida, who uses a real bear transformation potion this time. Rumpel saves Belle from being mauled, and turns Merida back with the powder.

With his heroic act performed, she takes him back to Emma. But Rumpel will only pull the sword if he gives Merida her heart back and tell her what happened to her brothers (again, since she has no idea she already rescued them with Belle) So she does and he pulls the sword as promised. But he warns Emma she made a grave error, because she turned him into a hero, and he's sure he can defeat her.

Other stuff, Emma tries to enlist Zelena's help, but Zelena refuses, saying she's trying to keep dark influences away from her baby.

once upon a time, the librarians, tv
