TV commentary:

12 Monkeys- Heh, its like a mini-reunion with Ryan and Birkhoff. I didn't realize Amanda Schull was going to be in this, does that mean Katrina isn't going to be on Suits? I mean, she was fired, but Louis does have some serious bargaining power right now, but I'm guessing they won't let him bring her back? (or will they just ignore her existence) But I digress, interesting departure from the movie. In the movie, the timeline was fixed, and he couldn't change anything, he was just trying to gather intel for the future people. In the show, its like the exact opposite, he was sent back to stop the plague.

If he does, he'll know, because he'll be unwritten from the timeline, since he will never existed. Though isn't that a paradox right there? If he never existed, he wouldn't have been able to stop it in the first place.

Cassie was right though, he shouldn't be just gunning down people willy nilly. Even if it mysteriously starts with him, he doesn't know if just killing him will fix things? What if it doesn't? Now he's wanted for murder! Then again, he's basically a freaking super soldier, and he can slip through time, so I guess its not like anyone could really stop him, so maybe he just doesn't give an eff. Still, it was hilarious that they get to the party, and they didn't even come up with a freaking back story on how they know each other! I guess it didn't matter, but you'd think that would be one of the things they'd work out beforehand!

It was interesting twist that Cole had actually met Leland in the past. Well, Leland's past, 1987. Cole doesn't remember, and he's all confused, and its like, duh, obviously you meet him in your future, Cole! But it is an interesting paradox, because its Leland who first mentions the Army of the 12 Monkeys to Cole at this point, but Leland wouldn't have done that had future Cole not asked him about it in the past. At least Leland does register it as a paradox, since he was going to cut up Cole since he's all genetically advanced, and if he does, Cole won't meet him in the future.

Of course, wasn't he worried it could have also meant Cole escapes to meet him in the future? And indeed Cole and Cassie escape, killing Leland in the process. Not sure why an object touching itself constitutes a paradox exactly, much less it causing some chronal anomaly that makes everyone around it move all slow while Cole can move at normal speed. Also, I guess it makes sense that the watch has to survive, so Cole can get it in the future to bring back to cause the paradox. Of course, isn't there already a paradox, because him futzing with the timeline turns Cassie into a crazy person who's career is ruined, so wouldn't she have not been working for the CDC and thus not been able to get the watch off her corpse?

But heh, as Cassie said, maybe killing him won't fix things, and sure enough Cole is still there. That being said though, its like give it a few minutes! They don't know how all that stuff works, so maybe it doesn't happen that exact second!

But yeah, just as Leland should have expected Cole might escape, shouldn't Cole have realized if he met Leland in his own future, that means things weren't solved, hence him having to visit Leland in 1987? He's all, how is it that possible, but ojv('Man, its obvious!') You're not thinking 4 dimensionally, as Doc Brown would say!

It will be interesting to see how this plays out for Cassie, since Cole has basically ruined her life. Like won't she be wanted in connection with Leland's murder now? How will she be able to do anything but be on the run?
