More weird pet peeves of mine:
Saying, "That show sucks! How is still on the air!?" is acceptable. You're expressing an opinion that the show is terrible, and are surprised people like it enough to be on the air. Which is fine, you're entitled to your opinion.
But just saying, "Oh, that show is still on?" particularly from people who don't watch TV at all just pisses me off. Because it sounds all superior- rather than the emphasis being on your tastes not matching the general public's and lamenting that the plebes watch such drek, its all, "Oh, I was unaware because I'm so effin cool that I can't be bothered to know the state of TV!" Then why the eff are you posting on a site all about TV shows and movies!? People who don't actually care about what's on TV are too busy not caring to even make a post! Making an effort to type something out is all, "Look at me! I'm superior to these people who engage in such banal activities!" cbv('Oh, good for you!') tv('Eat a sack of tits!')
TV commentary:
Legend of Korra- Argh!! That's where they end the ep?!
So Bolin and Zhu Li come back to warn Republic City that Kuvira is attacking in two weeks. Zhu Li also takes the opportunity to apologize to Varrick and say the only way she knew to help was to pretend to betray him and secretly sabotage Kuvira. She's all, he's her world. But she's developed a backbone too. When he starts trying to treat her like his lapdog again, she tells him to eff off and to see her when he can treat her like an equal.
Anyways, Prince Wu steps up, and actually reassures the Republic Citizenry, and he and Pema make sure the evacuation process goes smoothly. Too bad Kuvira shows up a week early. I guess she was always suspicious of Zhu Li because not only did she give her wrong information, but somehow Zhu Li and Varrick were unaware that Kuvira was making a giant mech wielding the spirit vine cannon.
Needless to say, even the Fire Nation army led by Iroh shits themselves when they see the gigantic robot. And then it decimates a few ships in the harbor with a few cannon blasts, so the Prez had no choice but to surrender. Bataar Jr flies to the capitol building to discuss terms, but Korra, Tenzin, Bumi, Jinora and Kai sneak onto the airship and kidnap him without anyone knowing.
They want to interrogate him to find a weakness, but he's uncrackable. Korra can't threaten to kill him, but she promises to flee with him as her prisoner permanently (that sounds like a lot of effort), preventing Bataar Jr from being together with his true love.
So, he makes a deal, they'll leave Republic City alone, but keep the Earth kingdom territories they took already. He radios Kuvira about it, saying the city is not worth risking out love. And Kuvira is all, "Yeah, right!" and uses the signal to home in on the broadcast when she learns basically all the major characters but Lin and the Prez are there. He's quite shocked when Kuvira blasts the place.
So, the ep ends with Lin and the Prez looking on in shock and Lin going to look for survivors. Wonder if they'll actually kill anyone off?! And we won't know until next week, dammit!
