TV commentary:
Hart of Dixie- Oh, don't tease me show!
Yeah, I'm a Zade shipper, but I wouldn't be averse to Lemonade. That's exactly the kinda shit I eat up. Like Lemon's life is sort of a mess right now, what with her screwing around with Meatball, and Wade is chill about the whole Zoe thing, reminds me a little of Pacey in the series finale of Dawson's Creek. But Lemon wants Wade to be happy, so she makes up the whole them going out to make Zoe jealous. And like I said, if it ended up becoming real between the two of them, that wouldn't be the worst thing.
Anyways, the season starts off 5 months later from last season's finale. Zoe's back in NY and supposedly enjoying herself, because she's back to the NY life she always wanted. But obviously she's still hung up on Bluebell, since she's dreaming about the place and hallucinating the residents. Which leads to a hilarious moment where she thinks she's hallucinating Rose, so she like ignores her, thinking she's a figment of her imagination, so Rose is rightly, "What the shit, Zoe?!" Particularly since she's mad that Zoe told everyone she's leaving via e-mail. That, and she had promised to fly Rose up to NYC to celebrate her birthday, and she totally flaked.
Which I think is actually kinda worse than the Wade thing. I mean, Wade had no expectations. Like he hoped she'd come back in three months and they'd be together again. And the rest of the town, it was a shitty way to say goodbye, particularly since she knows how close knit that community is. But Rose, she promised Rose something which I would think to a 16 year old who thinks she lives in the sticks would think would be so amazing- a great time in the big city. But nope!
So Zoe's new bf, a writer Joel, (played by an actor I recognize from something- like I think he was a serial killer or at least a big douche? Oh wait, that's right, he was the crazy intern on Dexter that got killed by Pullo and his men) recommends she take some time to go to Bluebell and set things right. Which I found amusing, because it looks like the hospital she works at was super busy, so I'm sure they would be THRILLED that she decided to take a few days off last minute. And which makes her ending decision to stay in Bluebell even more hilarious, because I'm sure they LOVE that she's all, "Sorry, I quit (or am taking an extended leave of absence)!" totally last minute. Well, I'm sure the hospital will figure out coverage, but I'm sure her co-workers are going to hate her ass.
But hey, she convinced her writer bf to move down with her. I mean, it seems like he's going to be miserable, but its effin Rachel Bilson, who's going to quit that? I'm just glad they showed how much sense it made since he didn't have any roots and had a job that could be done from somewhere else. It makes the whole Castle thing look even more ridiculous. Its like, why the eff wouldn't he have moved to DC with Beckett? He could still write there, and he's rich enough to afford a place there and keep his condo in NY for his mom and Alexis. So god forbid things don't work out for Caskett, its no skin off his back, just sell the place in DC and move back to his place in NY.
Anyways, I'm getting ahead of myself- the reason everyone is so pissed at her is not just because of the informal goodbyes, but because she caused George to run away, and with their hot shot lawyer gone, the neighboring town lawyer guy decided to eff with them by making a whole bunch of frivolous lawsuits, including one to stop them from having the founder's day parade. So she resolves to find him, and luckily since no one would let her stay with them, happened to stay in the same motel as him. Apparently he's in a funk because he had fun on tour, and even got a song with local airplay about Zoe and how she broke his heart. Being on tour made him realize how much he wanted to be with Tansy. But she heard the song and is now sure he has feelings for Zoe and refuses to get back with him. So, he's not talking to Zoe, so she has to get Lemon to come and whip him back into shape.
He saves the day in court, and the parade is saved. And everyone congratulates Zoe for finding him (even though she kinda just stumbled onto that, and Lemon was the one who actually got him to court). So everyone likes her again, and Levon convinces her that maybe she should stay in Bluebell and really figure out which life she wants.
She does tell chill but sad Wade that she did really love what he said to her at the end of last season, but when she got back to NY, she felt her life was there and thus there was no future for them. Wade says he is indeed happy for her, and he has no regrets because at least he tried. As I said earlier, Lemon thinks that's bullshit that he poured his heart out and didn't get the girl of her dreams, and now she's going out with some new guy. So, Lemon takes Zoe aside and claims she and Wade are happily in love (which also fits with the rumors of her having a secret new man), ostensibly to make it look like Wade won the break up contest. But then Zoe decides to stay, so Wade decides to continue the lie to save face.
What else? Gone- a bunch of Breelins- Zoe says she tried Lemon's cousin, but that didn't work out. Shelby and Brick broke up and she's gone. And Brick was so miserable he ended up sending Magnolia to boarding school. That's disappointing, I like both girls. Who's new? Lavon has a little cousin, Lynley staying at his carriage house where Zoe used to stay. Which is driving Annabeth nuts. And when she finally tells Lynley she has been annoyed with her as of late, Lynley cries (since apparently she's living with Lavon because she drove her own parents crazy too so now she feels everyone hates her) and drowns her sorry by picking up a sad George (who made another play for Tansy, but apparently she's with neighboring town's lawyer and his nemesis) for some sexy shenanigans. I'm sure Lavon will take that well.
