TV commentary:
Orphan Black- One last comment, it kinda blew me away to hear the actor playing Felix's accent during the behind the scenes stuff during the commercial breaks of the season finale. Like I know Tatiana Maslany isn't English either, but at least some of the people she plays don't have English accents. But it was weird to see him talking all non-English. I mean, apparently he was on Degrassi for a few eps, he was involved with Riley, but I do not recall that at all!
Game of Thrones- OMG, how did I not realize Walder Frey was Argus Filch from Harry Potter?! Well, the show finally did that event.
One of the huge events in the books I know about is the Red Wedding. When talking with the ex-roomie about it long ago, he was expecting it wouldn't happen until 4th or 5th season. But then as the season played out, it was obvious it was coming up. So I was sort of prepared. But wow, for non-book readers, that must've caused them to freak the eff out! At least you knew Ned Stark's execution was coming first season- I mean, I don't think non-book readers expected his head to actually be chopped off, like something or someone would save him. But who the hell would expect the Freys to slaughter Robb, Cat, and Tulisa and the rest of the Stark army at the wedding?!
I will say, the Tulisa thing was unexpected at least- she's kinda a replacement character for someone in the books. But that person survives the wedding. So I was not expecting her to get killed. Well, I was 50/50. On the one hand, her book counterpart doesn't die. But her book counterpart didn't get preggers. And they were making such a big deal about her being pregnant that it seemed like they couldn't have had a son of Robb come to term.
And also- that is why in RPGs you should always get magical armor that you can comfortably wear anywhere, because you never know when you'll get attacked!
But hey, they did get a real cutie to play Roslin Frey (who was supposed to be way cute in the books, so that makes sense) And Daario, Jorah, and Grey Worm kicking ass was pretty cool.
