I had a really quick read-through (it's midnight here in Oz and I should be in bed like all good little giggleses)

Anyway, I thought you did really really well. I usually stay away from addiction recovery fics, because in a previous life I worked within the drug addiction team of the probation/parole office and it is rarely handled with as much knowledge and understanding as you have.

I could make a long list of all the things I thought you got especially right and if you like, I can do that tomorrow. However, the fact that the story mostly represents my experiences with users and their recovery, makes me suspect that you have professional experience in this field (or are very close to someone who has). The few minor differences are most likely due to the different countries we reside in and their different legal and social systems.

So, well done for writing such a wonderful story about such a truly difficult subject matter. I am grateful that it was written so utterly positive, because the reality can sometimes be so utterly depressing.

Thank you so much. I actually work in the recovery community and have done so for ten years now. I've read a lot of recovery fics where thing were either painfully wrong or too easily wrapped up in a nice package. I wanted to write something that showed the struggle and the possible successes of people who are working toward living a healthy lifestyle.

I also wanted to show that success happens. This story means a lot to me so I'm grateful you liked it.

I've been wondering the same thing as giggles149 while reading this, and now that you've confirmed it I know why I was feeling so WOW throughout the story. It is wonderful, really. I love how real you made Dean's struggle. I got what you were saying about other recovery fics being a piece of cake or a mere dark package of wrong depression, although I don't really have any experience with it. And I especially love the part where Dean says that he can treat it, but he can't cure it, because it's true, and I know this not just because of people saying it all the time. Anyway, I just wanna tell you that you are great.

Thank you so very much. This was deeply personal for me and I wanted it to be close to as realistic as it can be. So yeah, in life nothing is easy or simple and Dean will be working on staying sober for the rest of his life but that didn't have to mean that complicated couldn't be happy either and I'm glad so many people got that with my story.
