Oh my God. Just when I thought my life couldn't get any worse, I am crossed by someone I thought was my friend.
Liz, my general manager at Papa Johns has left town to go on vacation and she left Roxanne in charge. She's the more experienced shift runner and is in line to be the next assistant, so it made some sense. She has done nothing but abused the power that has been given, and that has visibly annoyed me. So today, she "fired" me and used the most feeble excuse I have ever heard. In the office the night before the rush I asked her if she and Liz had discussed when my last day would be, because I apparently was the only one that didn't know. She said "I don't know, could be next week, you could get fired sooner." I very jokingly played around with all of this, and she knew quite well I was joking when I said "would you fire me if I took a shit in the corner of the store?" . She even admitted to another driver that she knew I was joking. When she asked for my store key it took me at least 3 or 4 tries before I got a reason out of her. I called Steve (the big boss in the Austin area) and he agreed she did not have the authority to do this. He told me he would go up to the store and discuss this with her and then call me back. That was at 1 in the afternoon today, I have yet to hear from him. The only thing at this point I can do is wait for Liz to get back in town and talk to her about this. This is the most incredible injustice. I have defended these people when Jojo almost toasted their asses (she should have). The things Roxanne has gotten away with are obscene to say the least.
