Living in 2 locations can be a pain in the butt, especially if you cook your own meals. I'm leaving Tahoe for LA today, and I need to finish up or pack all my perishables. Transporting the perishables seems to cut down their lifespan a lot, so I prefer to use up as much as possible.
random sandwich:
French bread, butter, extra sharp cheddar, toast till cheese melts
Then add mustard on top of the cheese crust (so wet condiment doesn't soak into bread and make it mushy)
Sliced yellow onion
Sliced turkey breast whose texture has been ruined by being frozen and thawed over and over
Square omelet crafted to exactly fit the bread, haha ha ha ha imadork
Fuck, I should have added hot sauce. Oh well, the sandwich is already wrapped up and I'm busy doing something important like writing this lj entry.
Toasting cheese to bread before adding anything moist keeps the bread fresher if the sandwich is to be eaten later. I will eat it for dinner on the drive down. I find that sandwiches with egg and mustard go well together. Not the good mustard!! Use the shitty French's mustard for this, at least that is what I like.
Threw the leftover milk and OJ into the freezer so they'll be usable next time.
Had to toss the rest of the potatoes, they are 2 months old. Barely good enough for this trip, they're already growing plants and they'll be shriveled for next trip.
