20 icons of Kono Kalakaua from Hawaii Five-0 for round 18 at females20in20. I had some extra time this month, so I wanted to make these as a tribute to the character, who will unfortunately not be in season 8 of the show.

Thank you! One of my main goals was this set was capturing all the different facets of Kono's character, so I'm glad that I succeeded in that regard.

I'm pretty sure I liked everyone in the core four pretty quickly (admittedly in part because I'd been spoiled by gifsets on tumblr before I started watching). I liked Kono immediately when she punched out that guy for stealing her wave, lol.

I really don't understand why TPTB wouldn't pony up enough money. I really don't think saving a little is worth losing two of the lead actors on your show. I would be sad about any circumstance that made them leave, but especially this, since it was avoidable and we won't be able to have a proper goodbye for those characters. According to the sources I've read, Adam is supposed to join Five-0 next year, which is kind of odd in my opinion because I never got the impression he had wanted to be in law enforcement before. (Mostly he just seemed to want to be a legitimate businessman, and then, after he got released from prison in season 7, to have a quiet life as a construction worker.)
