My music is suddenly anime-ted.

For a while I saw what I thought was a random FL Studio fan-contributed anime mascot, who's been dubbed FL-chan. Ha ha, "dubbed". Anyway, it looked like another little fad fanfare thing to me. In some ways it is, like FL Studio had a fireworks generator and other visualization stuff that's really more of a waste of processing power more than anything else. Why would you want to animate some fireworks when you're trying to push every bit of your computer to make synthesized music?

Well, they've done it once more and this time it's much cuter. They've added a plugin call "Fruity Dance", and at first I thought it was there "Deck-a-Dance" application, a live DJ tool. No, this is actually a dancer. FL-chan in her "chibi" anime form will perform various dance moves like the zombie and windmill and a hula dance on screen even when the program is minimized. Not only that but she's programmable. You can tell her to do a certain dance for a certain part of the song you make. Add a second one or more on various channels and you'll have one that dances to a number of different parts of the song. Evil I say. Evil to prey on my fascination with anime.
