Playful
Yes, I have ended my self-imposed LJ exile to bring you news of...well...me. And, moreso, to show off the new animated GIF I made for my icon. Hehehe...
Anyway, summer's going well. I can't wait to get back to school and see Jenny, Bettina, and Cristine again. I think I need a tarot reading or something. Maybe I just miss USC.
I finished my book "Demiurge: Life" which Cristine knows as "the book that has the title like that tower from Legend of Legaia". I think it's probably the best thing I've written so far and *gasp* it's in third person.
Currently, I'm working on "Faster than Light", my return to sci-fi, a story about a society based on instantaneous transportation between the stars and what happens when that transportation is cut off... The main character is a megalomaniac who tries to use the disruption (as well as first contact with an alien species) to take over the galaxy. Yeah, I like amoral heroes...
One of the things that's quickly becoming a huge influence on this book is "The Romance of the Three Kingdoms". I started by playing the video game then decided to read the novel--and not the wimpy abridged version. I'm only about thirty chapters in (it's 120 or so).
Fictionalized Ancient Chinese history has never been so awesome. Seriously, if any of you out there have a whole lot of time to kill reading, find it. It's like the Illiad, Odyssey, and Aeneid except...well...more interesting (yes, I went there) and more Chinese.
On that note, I leave you with the picture of Liu Bei's tactician, Zhuge Liang, from the Rot3K game I have. He looks like Sai.
I think I might post again, sometime. Really!
