Aldi, Aldi
Soooo, heres my story about Aldi.. still continuing ^^
Late last week, there was an ad page in the newspaper from Aldi, our beloved discounter ^^
"NEW OPENING, Aldi in Seesen, on Wednesday, 10 December 2008". And what made me drool over the page? What make me drive 70 kilometers...? It was a gorgeous laptop, with a VERY attractive price, given the endowment.
Now, I talked to a friend on Tuesday, and he already mocked me: "I bet they do only have some laptops to lure people in, there is NO WAY you will get one!"
Now, even though I'm sometimes too cautious (meaning here zurückhaltend^^) for my own good (am I not, kitten? XD), I tend to be optimistic enough to at least try. Thus, getting up at six o'clock in the bloody MORNING in order to get to Seesen, grab a laptop and still be at work at 9:00. See the flaws in my beautiful plan...?
Arriving at Aldi by car: no parking space (parking at a nearby Lidl)
arriving at Aldi (on 7:50 h) on foot: PEOPLE! MANY PEOPLE! (seriously, it seemd to be more people than for the Kagrra, concert we visited in summer!).
After surviving the stampede and getting in line (with MANY PEOPLE), chatting idly and reading my book, I really made it up to the checkout counter. From 8:25 I was getting nervous (work!), called my colleague to think of excuses for me ]:->). Then there was the call: NO MORE LAPTOPS! *le gasp* *Le beginning Meuterei*
BUT: another "shipment" was expected at 09:00 (work?!). Well, at first I decided to wait. The Aldi-employees were nice enough, giving out coffee and cake in order to save their hides ]:->
Yet then, *le GASP* anew: Some customers returned, angrily: the laptop sold was not the laptop advertised! (it was a somewhat inferior machine). That was my cue to leave... and be only one hour late for work...
In the afternoon, a complaining email was written to Aldi. More of a joke, asking to return the money for gas, as I would not have driven to Seesen if the right computer has been in the add. Received an auto-reply: a sales-rep will get in touch with you soon. Nice touch, ne? ^^
And really, behold: Today there was a phone call from said sales rep: so sorry, yaddayadda, mistake in ad, yaddayadda: YOU CAN COME TO SEESEN TOMORROW AND COLLECT THE LAPTOP AS ADVERTISED *glee* ^^
Now, I AM still sceptic. But happily anticipating, hoping not to be disappointed tomorrow. Wish me luck ;-).
