So today was a busy day... busy but fun. I headed to Aunt Nancy's around 9:30 or so to pick her up. We went to nashville for the day. I wanted to go to the used bookstore and trade in some of my audiobooks, so I would have plenty to listen to when I start my summer school commute next week. I also took some of Mom's books and got her some new stuff. We went to IHOP and had breakfast for lunch. Shannon was supposed to meet us, but had to go to the eye doctor because her eye is getting worse. After a filling lunch we headed over to Opry Mills, so we could go to the Carter Kids outlet to get some things for my new nephew, due in August. I found him an adorable denim jacket, as well as a hoodie and track pants set. It's the first outfit I have bought him; so far I have only gotten him storybooks:The Classic Winnie the Pooh Collection, The Complete Peter Rabbit Collection and a Bible story book. Fortunately, they were all on the bargain table at work and then there's my discount. Aunt Nancy(who has already gotten him too much) got some receiving blanket and some plain white onesies. We stopped at a couple of other stores, before heading back to Auburn. I also stopped at the pretzel place and got a yummy pomegranate lemonade.Quite refreshing on what turned out to be a rather warm day. We got back to Aunt Nancy's around 4 or so. I hung out for a couple of hours and ate supper with her before heading home to settle in for my night of season finales. Ugly Betty made me mad because they left it all cliffhangery, but Grey's Anatomy didn't have even one cliffhanger. I enjoyed both episodes, though. So far, though, I think Desperate Housewives finale has impressed me the most this season; of course, I still have Lost next week. DH had a couple of really good "HUH!?!?" moments, plus it looks like Gale Harold, form Queer as Folk, is going to be joining the show next season. I have to agree with Marika that Gio is the man for betty. I only hope she makes the right choice come next fall. I read that they are moving production to New York next season to 1) save on production costs and 2) give it a real New York feel, since it is set there. I'm about 20 pages shy of finishing Where the Boys Are, so I will probably try to finish that tonight and start Julie Smith's New Orleans Beat tomorrow. I doubt I'll get it done by Wednesday when I start class, since I have my niece's 6th grade graduation tomorrow night and am supposed to go to Shannon's for a dinner party Saturday(and maybe a cookout at Aunt Nancy's on Monday), but I'll get a good portion done. I'm only doing one class this summer, so I should still be able to squeeze in a few more books by August. Then there's the couple of weeks off from class in August before fall starts.
Well, I'm going to watch a Will and Grace rerun and then go curl up with my book.
