* Bella[Future] vaguely mocking, "'Oh we should build outside the wall and then erect a new one'," Beat, "'We should knock down the wall, and rebuild it!'" Beat, "'no no, you are both wrong, the proper way to expand is UP'. Nngh. I swear, having a couple of Sparks on the council is a bad idea." She pinches the bridge of her nose, "Getting them to agree on that is going to take something amazing."
"Oh dear. That's got to be something. The first one's how it's usually been done in my world."
"I agree with the first, and I can see the point of the second, and I really ought to knock the fellow in the back of the head who suggested the third." She pinches the bridge of her nose and makes a 'nngh, politics and Sparks' sort of noise.
"It's too bad you can't make a Death Ray of Damocles. Set it over really problematic councillor's chairs. before the meeting and just let them Take Note."

* Pat smiles a little. "Well, if that's plausible, I'm glad."
"OH IT'S CERTAINLY PLAUSIBLE." Mad, Mad little grin. Oh sweet lightning, this solves about half her problems.
"Would it be best to have some sort of very obvious...thing that triggers the wires that make it go....right within reach of your chair, or leave the firing mechanism purely up to speculation?" Pat wonders aloud. In for an obol, in for a drachma.
* Bella[Future] is Madness Placing a little, dear god, Pat. "OH YES,YES. MAKE IT VERY OBVIOUS AND EVEN HAVE THE DEATH RAY HAVE A PARTICULARLY OMINOUS HUM WHEN IT IS ACTIVE." Beat, "MAYBE F-SHARP. THAT IS A PARTICULARLY OMINOUS NOTE, WHEN USED PROPERLY."
"Oh. Good then."
* Pat doesn't know what F sharp actually is. The octatonic scale won't even be invented for two more centuries.
* Pat assumes she would totally agree about it's ominousness, though.
"I THINK I'LL START ON THE PROTOTYPE NOW," Because her mun's brain is, alas, not a sparky one and starting to turn to mush. "THANK YOU, MY FRIEND, FOR SUCH A WONDERFUL IDEA." She stands, and hugs the Foundling Guard on her way out. Congrats, Pat. You're to blame for the next Sparky Horror she's going to create.
* Pat hugs back, bids her goodnight, and notes that Kintostown is not her jurisdiction.
* Pat does the last part silently, of course.
* Pat will eventually make her way home.
