Paint time for sculpture!

Mar 23, 2013 13:49

I FINALLY(!!) finished cleaning the big sculpture to prep it for paint. I left a message with the paint shop last evening after work to set up a time to drop it off. It's almost done!!!! This deserves many exclamation points!!!!!!!!!

Seriously, it is getting so close to completion now, and I'm a little happy that this weekend I don't have to work on it yet again. I do enjoy my work, but I am ready to put this one to bed and call it done. I have been working on it in almost all of my spare time the last several weeks, and it began in December of 2012. It is high time that it should be completed so that I can move on to other creations. I can't wait to see it in my client's house! This is going to be so cool!

The new day job is going fairly well. I'm still nervous about all this training, but they keep assuring us we'll be fine if we stick with it, and that no one picks it all up immediately. I got a view into some other work I'll be doing on Friday, and I think I'm really going to like it. Actually, I'm a little surprised at how much I like it. It's nothing that sounds fun or fascinating to explain, but it's good analytical, problem-solving sort of work, which is what my sculpture is lots of times, so go figure that one.

I'll report more as soon as I hear from the paint shop.
