I just finished applying to four more jobs, and I applied to a fifth one last night before I went to bed. The bonus is, I actually would LIKE to have a couple of the ones I applied for! WOOHOO!
Srsly, I applied for five jobs in the last 20 or so hours of my life. I have been going to my new job this week, but the pay is piteously low, and I fear for my mortgage should this continue much longer. I need something with a few more hours and a lot more pay attached to it. I dare dream about health insurance on occasion, but just covering the mortgage and some expenses would take a lot of heat off. I have found that often times health care facilities like doctor's offices keep Mon-Thur hours, and this makes me happy. I applied to one last night that was a full-time job, M-TH. I hope it comes with health insurance, and I hope it comes to me!
I applied to two welder jobs, though it seems I'm not qualified, and they are full-time, which I can't do. However, the last full-time welding job I applied to let me work part-time, so maybe I could work a deal. I have applied to three other admin/clerical-type jobs. The pay rates for all of them are much better than my nine an hour I'm currently struggling with. It feels creepy that lunch out with friends costs me over an hour's worth of work. My bus ride back and forth from work costs me just over one-third of an hour's work now. My car just broke down, and at my current rate of pay it would cost me over a month just to pay the repair bill.
Something will change. Things never stay the same. Sooner or later, this situation will improve. I have an interview this Monday. That job is supposed to pay well, and I may even be able to get a part-time position that has benefits(!!). So, I am working on getting another job, and, even better, I have someone who is interested in commissioning yet another sculpture. I cannot say anything more about that until the deal is finalized, but I am excited about it!
That's it for now. I need to make a phone call and get some art done today. I am three deep on my projects, and I need to get some things finished!
