I already need a grief councilor and it's not even Christmas yet. It is just a stupid show but damn, I loved it. And it is breaking my heart to see what they are doing to that lovely little show. Damn the TPTB. I will never watch something of theirs sgain.

It is just a stupid show but it used to be one that made me happy and smile and love it beyond reason. Now I very much feel like the author of the article: My own reaction isn’t even sadness, but weary resignation.

I'll miss the show like hell but right now I'm so damn glad it'll be over in a week because I need a break from the actual show to recover from the huge disappointment S5's been for me. And although I own the first box and the second DVD box is pre-ordered, I can't imagine rewatching S5 in the foreseeable future.

If ever. Maybe instead I'm going to do with S5 what I did with ep 04.09: pretend it didn't happen.

While there have been moments of brilliance... I don't foresee watching anything other than 5x03 (and maybe 5x01 and x02) again.

There have been a few lovely moments but not enough for me to feel like rewatching entire episodes. Maybe after a while when I don't feel so bitter about how they really rather ruined the show for me this year. Taking my level of 'pissed at TPTB' into consideration, that'll take quite some time, though.

The sad thing is that I liked some of the episodes this series very much including 511. It's just that I can't take this much gloom/doom in a show that was supposed to be happy and end on a high. If they think this is a high, someone is 'high'.

I'm sure the Js will never get why we would be so upset about the ending. So unless the spoilers are totally off base, I will never watch anything they produce ever again. I can't trust them at all.

S5 wasn't bad per se. But by now I'm so utterly disappointed in this series, the direction TPTB took the show, the fact that they felt at ease to 'waste' so many hours of precious screentime on rehashed plots instead of telling Arthur's and Merlin's story, let them deal with the magic reveal and forge the union of Albion for The Golden Age to come - I can't even enjoy the more 'decent' episodes anymore.

S5 had a couple of really cracking episodes, but as you say - they were a waste in the big scheme of things. I feel so angry at the Js for being so smug and trying to be soooo clever with it that they completely let the real story get out of their sight. I had a sigh of relief when we heard that Arthur will find out about Merlin (better than nothing) but I am so annoyed that this is done in the last two episodes where no real reacton can be had anymore.
I also feel that not having the reveal at the beginning of the show killed this season and it spoilt it for me.

You said it perfectly.
i feel the same.
I think its beyond sick.
What an ego power trip to hurt the feelings of millions of people and do it because "we always said we'd have a 5year story arc."'
Good art evolves and responds to its audience.
We're (fans)good for them to make money off of but not good enough for them to consider our feelings.
Who deliberately bums out millions of people world wide on Christmas?
Are we sure they are not the Dark side?
