Actors Celia Imrie, Colin Morgan, Freddie Fox and Rosalie Craig were among those who rose to the challenge of performing four original musicals in a day at the Old Vic yesterday.
-----Merlin star Colin Morgan called the gala the “embodiment of the show must go on” and said he had jumped at the chance to be involved. “I was over the moon to take part in the theatrical event of the year,” he added. “It was a no brainer despite the terror.”

Many thanks to a lovely person ♥ who sent me an audio recording of the Step in Time musical and a scanned pic from the programme. Colin didn't sing until the very last song (with the ensemble) but he can be heard in his role as Gary, the dance instructor right in the beginning, somewhere in the middle and shortly before the last song in a scene with the (Polish) girl.

♦ There was a documentary of the process before everyone performed. It was from the night before at the meet & greet, Colin was hardly in it, though. Everyone had to bring a prop and announce a special skill. Colin wasn't featured, but Anthony was, he brought his sixth form blazer, his special skill...he can't fit in it anymore. Colin was next to him, his biceps were the most amazing things in history. That was all to be seen of Colin in the documentary.
♦ Colin's Credit he wrote for the programme: 'Colin Morgan is trying to accumulate his inner Che - and share it with Anthony Head when he finds it.'
♦ He bent over like fully in 'Step In Time', looking through legs- its a bit where 'Celia Imrie' admires him for something, or was respecting his sexuality..or something
♦ In the opening scene when he enters, playing Gary Colin performs: Following Steps - Flashdance - Stereotypical Flashdance pose on a chair, Gaga - The monster hand thing
♦ Colin Doesn't sing till the last song

On a personal note: Please DO NOT tweet a link to this entry or the original file to @oldvictheatre (or @MerlinOfficial, srsly, please don't ever link them here!) or anyone else involved in the production. As you can imagine it's not exactly permitted to take pics or record audio/video during theatre performances, so please just enjoy listening but don't tell them. Thanks!
