KatieKardasz Can't believe it's the last ever visit to Chateau de Pierrefonds with the Merlin crew tomorrow. End of an era lets make it one to remember!
ETA I Thanks to metym for the heads-up, Katy deleted the above tweet (that had been favourited/retweeted numerous times alredy) and replaced it with this: KatieKardasz Last ever visit for Me with the crew to the castle. I'm off travelling around the world :( for a year or two.
ETA III And now it's getting really, really, REALLY ridiculous... Andy deleted the "final ever block in France" tweet and there's a new one: andyspfx Let me clarify.....i am moving on to another show, this would have been my last time in france......
A member of Merlin's special effects team has hinted that Merlin's upcoming fifth series will be its last.
Freelance special effects tech Andy Adam tweeted: "A bit gutted, final ever block in France will be without me.....!"
Would you like Merlin to return for a sixth series? Let us know below...
Haha, now Andy commented on the article: [click to read]Sorry guys....but my tweet was about me, not the show....I am moving on to another show, because of work commitments it would have been MY last ever block in France... Andy.
Yeah, obviously... And Katy decided on travelling the world for a year or two on a whim.
Reportedly, the BBC have decided not to renew Merlin, with the upcoming fifth series to be the last.
Merlin was originally intended to run for five series, but in recent months the creators have said a sixth series was under discussion.
Recent signs are not looking good now, however.
Actor Graham Burton wrote on Twitter: “Sad to hear that BBC have cancelled Merlin. Lots of my friends got lots of work on it. And a cracking costume family drama for a Sat night.”
The BBC or Shine have yet to comment, so treat this as a rumour for now.
After a day brimming with rumours a tweet from Jai 'I'm Merlin's publicist' Dattani. No words, really. jaidattani Off to dinner tonight. Do I want rice or noodles? Help me please!
On a somewhat related note: today's 'travel to PF day' - chances that Colin or any of the other cast members will attend tonight's TV Choice Awards Ceremony in London (Merlin is nominated as 'Best Family Drama', Colin in the 'Best Actor' category) are probably slimmer than slim, right? *sigh* TVChoice @colinmorganblog He [Colin]'s certainly been invited, so we'll be watching the door with our fingers crossed. Will keep you posted. #tvcawards
