BBC One Rolling Out Agressive Drama Advertising Campaign During Olympics Coverage
With the Olympics now upon us and the BBC expecting record viewing figures, BBC One is rolling out an agressive advertising campaign (titled “BBC One Presents Original British Drama - Made in Britain”) to highlight the forthcoming season of original dramas which will begin airing on the channel this autumn.
Over the course of the next 17 days at 8pm, BBC One will air trailers of forthcoming programmes including Hunted, Good Cop, Accused, The Secret of Crickley Hall, Doctor Who, Merlin, The Paradise, EastEnders and Ripper Street. “The London 2012 Olympics provides a rare and unique opportunity to showcase some of BBC One’s very best forthcoming programmes to our audiences. At approximately 8pm across the 17 days of The London Olympics, we will give viewers the first exclusive look at a range of brand new original British drama coming up on BBC One - in the form of specially-made feature length trailers.” said Danny Cohen, Controller of BBC One. ”From Hunted to The Paradise, Good Cop and The Secret of Crickley Hall, Shetland to Ripper Street, these new series highlight the exciting and broad range of tones, stories and worlds we want drama on BBC One to encapsulate. Plus viewers will get an exclusive look at what’s coming up on Eastenders, Merlin Accused and Dr Who. It’s a fantastically diverse and ambitious combination of fiction coming up on BBC One in the coming months”
Kicking things off on Saturday July 28th in a bundle trailer of upcoming dramas (which you can watch below). That will be followed by feature length trailers of Hunted on Sunday July 29th, Good Cop on Monday July 30th, Accused on Tuesday July 31st, The Secret of Crickley Hall on Wednesday August 1st, Doctor Who on Thursday August 2nd, Merlin on Friday August 3rd, The Paradise on Saturday August 4th, EastEnders on Sunday August 5th, repeats of those trailers from Monday August 6th to Saturday August 11th and the trailer for Ripper Street airing on Sunday August 12th.
