It screened at the 2010 Galway Film Festival and then took a while to get released into the ether. With a riveting soundtrack by The Evora and Kevin Whyms, and performances by Tom Lambertsen, Kettie Rompre, Seijo Imazaki and Eoin Macken (Merlin), with a beautiful cinematic style from Smyth, DFU has some truly beautiful moments, looking at a young isolated man in New York slowly dropping into madness. It looks at the Irish fashion industry and was ahead of it's time, made before the explosion of reality fashion series and fashion films. With a soundtrack by the Brilliant Things and Una Healy's original music, and interviews with the biggest names in Irish Fashion+Photography at the time: Mike Bunn, Rebecca Morgan, Eddie Shanahan, Laragh McCann, catherine Condell. This film was the forefront of the fashion film development.
