A wonderful and detailed interview with Merlin director Jeremy Webb at the Merlin Locations website.

WARNING: one pic of a guest star in an upcoming episode, some may consider this to be a spoiler, otherwise the interview's spoilerfree.

Colin receives a great deal of recognition for his acting skills, and justly so, but I’ve always thought Bradley is also astonishingly good. (And perhaps just as good, with any differences being more to do with style than substance.) In fact, after watching him for three-and-a-half seasons now, I can’t doubt it. What is it like to work with Bradley? Where do you see his future career heading?
I totally agree, I think Bradley has developed an extraordinary range of skills, and physically is brilliant, he’s an extraordinary swordsman. And he really understood the through-line of becoming a great man. Also Arthur’s relationship with Guinevere, he’s played beautifully. I think he could do many many things now, and the only problem I see is how to overcome the fact that he’s so unbelievably ugly. And you can quote me on this. I think that’s the main obstacle, he’s a great actor, and he can fight and everything, but he’s just not nice to look at.
