The Harry Potter movie franchise'll retire after The Deathly Hallows II's release in July, but WB isn't short of wizards for the Big Screen. According to
Hollywood Reporter they hired rather unkown screenwriter Ed Whitworth to pen a script for an adaptation of
T.A. Barron's first book of the five part series
The Lost Years of Merlin, telling the tale of the legendary wizard Merlin's youth. Though the character Merlin is world famous as an ancient wizard, this story of his lost youth is original to the author. The title applies to both the first book in the series, and also to the entire five-book epic. (summary via
