Hm, I can't help but wonder if the Merlin people will be happy with these vids being put on YouTube.

I have no idea - on the other hand the French set assistant could have simply forbidden to film? Or maybe there was no Johnny Capps around who asked astraios60 not to upload that stuff to YT?

I don't know how they handle that on set.

They can't really do much about people taking pictures because it is public space in which they are filming. Still, I would assume that many spoilers getting out that way will be the best way to get them to do something about it.

Which will suck for those coming to visit later. But I guess we can hope that no officials will see the videos...

On the other hand - what harm does it really do? I mean, we see a fighting scene between two knights, it isn't as if someone had copied all story books of series 2 and posted them.

Of course I know what you mean but I think a few spoiler pics and vids from time to time increase the anticipation and help the fans to get over the 'dry times'. And I doubt that the filming crew will build up visual covers the next time they're in Pierrefonds due to a few pics or these almost non spoilery vids.

I agree that it won't hurt their franchise at all. But then again, that never stops them from thinking that it will. :)

And they obviously chose which pictures Sebastien for example gets to post (because it is always carefully chosen to be something with no actual storyline spoilers) and once they feel that stuff is getting out they would prefer keeping hidden (or announcing themselves) they will probably try to get an agreement with the Pierrefonds people on how to handle filming or taking pictures.

I think it all depends on how much they want to stop it and how much shows up.

Oh well, right now they are very open and welcome to fans visiting and taking pictures and I think it would be great if it could continue to be that way (and I'm not sure at all if anything we do will hurt it but it is something I worry about sometimes).

I totally get your point and I really, really hope it'll stay as open and friendly as it is. It's just great to see a few pics every now and then, it gives all of us who can't go to Pierrefonds the opportunity to share the thrill a bit.

Every new bit of information is exciting, every new pic something to cheer about and it helps to bridge the time gap until series 2 airs in September.

Guh, why are there still 3 more months to bridge? :P

Yeah, it's hard to 'play by the rules' if the rules aren't clear. I love how relaxed the connection with the fans is right now and I hope it can stay that way!

Well, Johnny warning me was an offhand, fairly throw-away comment, so I suspect warnings are a bit hit and miss on the set. It may really change from day to day...
