A Night Less Ordinary Bradley & Colin - ambassadors for A Night Less Ordinary
2nd batch of pics
A message from Louise Wylie, Director, Media Relations Arts Council England
It's been great watching how much fun people have had with the photos of Colin and Bradley and we hope you'll enjoy this latest batch just as much. We have permission to release all the pictures from both photo sessions, so look out for a final batch just before Christmas.
Professional commitments permitting, we hope Bradley and Colin will be working with us again before they begin shooting Merlin Season 3. More news on that as soon as we have it.
In the meantime, when you're done staring at their lovely faces (!) remember the boys want you to enjoy as much fantastic theatre as you can, so please keep visiting
http://www.anightlessordinary.org.uk to see the new shows on offer and book those free tickets.
And look out for our interview and pictures with the gorgeously giggly Tony Head, coming soon.
All the best,
Louise
Who can get tickets?
Anyone under the age of 26, no matter if you're a UK resident or not, as long as you have proof of age. If you're under 26 you're NOT able to get over 26s in for free. You can all book at the same time and sit together, but only under 26s get in free.
How long will the scheme run?
Scheme runs up to the end of March 2011. Beyond that it depends whether ACE gets funding from government to continue it.
Some information about Arts Council England
Arts Council England invests around £1.3 billion from the government and the national lottery every three years into the Arts. A Night Less Ordinary is a two-year pilot scheme that represents £2.5 million of that £1.3 billion. ACE supports around 900 major theatre, dance, music, literature and visual arts organisations and makes thousands of one-off grants every year to individual artists and small arts organisations. Name a big theatre, opera house, orchestra, gallery, ballet company etc in England and the Arts Council is probably its major funder.
The Arts Council is a registered charity and their job is to develop and promote the arts in England. Their mission is 'great art for everyone'. They don't *make* money out of people - they invest money in artists in order to - hopefully - enrich people's lives with the wonderful experiences those artists create. Artists like Colin - whose two plays at the Young Vic were Arts Council funded; like Tony who has appeared at numerous ACE funded theatres, including the National (where he met his partner Sarah) and the Royal Court where he was interviewed for the scheme - interview soon to be released - and let's hope it won't be too long before Bradley as Mercutio will be on stage of one of the funded theatres.
And now on to the pics. :D
Colin Morgan
ETA: Some people asked why there are only 9 pics of Colin but 18 of Bradley released. Truth is, that a lot more pics of Bradley were taken, therefore we have to 'hold back' a few for the last batch that'll be released before Christmas. :)
Bradley James
ETA: Just because a few people asked this already: the video camera Bradley's holding in some of the pics or he used in some scenes of
his interview was not 'his' camera. It was a camera the Arts Council provided especially so he could do some sort of 'video diaries style filming' for the interview. The footage he filmed that day won't be released on any Merlin DVD's, most of it was seen in the interview anyway. :)
