THIS soundtrack to the upcoming five-part BBC TV series Dancing On The Edge written by the acclaimed Stephen Poliakoff gives a real indication of in what era the drama will be set. It is 23 songs of toe-tapping big band and blues music straight out of the 1930’s played with real gusto and fun by The Louis Lester Band fronted by terrifically powerful and sassy singers in the show Jessie (played by Angel Coulby) and Carla (played by Wunmi Mosaku). There is an air of quality that you would associate with anything with Poliakoff’s touch and suggest’s the show may be worth a look when it airs in our screen’s next month with a cast including the likes of Hollywood stars John Goodman and Chiwetel Ejiofor.
